Welcome to a new week of TV! I had a great week, full of wonderful tv and dreaming of what tv is going to be like in a month. Making the new site, I started getting more and more excited, especially for shows for Terminator: TSCC, Pushing Daisies & Chuck! w00t! So let’s see what is going to keep us entertained this week, shall we? Jump with me to see this week’s schedule!

Monday is the season finales of 4 shows. First up is the 2-hour finale of American Gladiators on NBC at 8/7c. Then at 10/9c is Nashville Star on NBC and Verminators on VH1. Finally, at 10:30/9:30c is one of my new favorites, Secret Diary of a Call Girl on Showtime.

Tonight is also the series premiere of several shows. First up is I Want to Work for Diddy on VH1 at 9/8c. It will track 13 finalists as they compete to land the job of a lifetime: assistant to hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Finalists will go through the ultimate job interview as each of the applicants will be challenged emotionally, physically and mentally to earn the coveted position. Whether they call him Diddy, Puffy or Mr. Combs, one lucky person will call this legend of hip-hop … “My Boss.”

Following that is New York Goes to Hollywood, also on VH1, at 10/9c. Having at long last conquered her quest for love, New York is ready to tackle her other life dream: superstardom. Don’t get it wrong — New York is already a star but she wants to be on the A-list — as a legit actress. To focus on her new mission, New York has to put her last conquest, Tailor Made, on the backburner as she tries to take on Tinsel Town. She’s moving out west to see if she can climb the Hollywood ladder. Question is, will she reach the stars or fall flat on her face?

Finally, at 10:30/9:30c on VH1, it’s the series premiere of Luke’s Parental Advisory. Over the years, Luther “Luke” Campbell has had many monikers including raunchiest man in Hip Hop, musical mastermind and even activist for constitutional rights. But he is best known as the hype man for 2 Live Crew, the bawdiest hip hop group of the late 1980’s/early 90’s, and pioneer of the modern music video featuring scantily clad girls. What people don’t know about Luke is that he is now a loving father, successful CEO and most surprising of all, faithful fiancee. “Luke’s Parental Advisory” follows the day-to-day adventures of Luke Campbell as he navigates fatherhood with two teenage children, while running his adult business Luke Entertainment Group and planning a wedding with his straight-laced lawyer fiancee Kristin. Although his life may look like he has surrendered to typical suburbia, Luke hasn’t changed completely. Whether it’s wedding cake shopping, giving a “birds and the bees” lecture to his son or casting dancers for his adult website, Luke Campbell is still as nasty as he wants to be.

Friday is the 4 1/2-hour “premiere” for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, starting at 7:30/6:30c. Tonight is all about the opening ceremonies in Beijing. Starting with the Opening Ceremonies from Beijing’s National Stadium, NBC and its various platforms will offer more than 3,600 hours of events such as swimming, gymnastics and beach volleyball, including more than 2,200 hours on, thus giving viewers the chance to watch any and every Olympic event. One would think it should, considering that averages out to about 212 hours per day. Better warm up the DVR.

I will probably not try and keep up with posting every bit of Olympic dates/times. I would go bananas. If you have something specific you’d like to know and don’t want to look it up, let me know and I can find out. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Otherwise, I’ll stick to what is airing in primetime, NOT what is being shown live and elsewhere.

Also on tonight:

  • *Special*2008 Summer Olympic Games – NBC @ 7:30/6:30c (Night 1 of 17)
  • *Special*Puppy Games 2008 – Animal Planet @ 6/5c (3-Hour Special)
  • *New*Ashley Paige: Bikini or Bust – TLC @ 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c (2 New Episodes)

  • *New*Degrassi: The Next Generation – The N @ 8/7c
  • *New*Monk – USA @ 9/8c
  • *New*Psych – USA @ 10/9c
  • *New*The Soup – E! @ 10/9c

Saturday is the series premiere of Hope for Your Home on TLC at 8:30/7:30c. Hosted by real estate expert Kirsten Kemp Becker (TLC’s Property Ladder), it lends a hand to homeowners in financial need, by giving them critical resources to make improvements to their property. The goal is to add enough value to their home so they can either refinance their mortgage or make the best possible sale. Kirsten advises the homeowners on what improvements will actually increase a home’s value, while a contractor ensures that all projects are done properly and safely. Once the improvements are complete, a real estate agent and a mortgage broker tour the home, examine the upgrades, and determine a market value. In the end, the homeowners are empowered to decide if they should stay in their newly renovated home, or sell their home and find something more affordable for their family.

It’s also the series premiere of Primeval on BBC America at 9/8c. Click here to read about it, as it is kind of spoilery: When evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) discovers prehistoric creatures alive and well in the present-day, the natural world is turned on its head, and humanity faces a threat to its very existence. Unexplained anomalies are ripping holes in the fabric of time, allowing creatures from the very earliest stages of Earth’s development to roam the modern world. Whether it’s a prehistoric predator Gorgonopsid rampaging through a quiet suburban neighborhood or a swarm of super-sized spiders in the subway, Cutter and his team find themselves up against some seriously beastly opponents. These puzzling creatures all have the same simple fact in common – they don’t belong here. While Cutter and his team struggle to keep the looming disaster under wraps, Cutter also has to deal the fact that his wife, Helen, a fellow scientist who disappeared eight years ago, is not dead as he believed. In fact, she’s been traveling through time. However, now she’s back, and she holds the key to the riddle of the anomalies. But is it something she’s willing to share? If not, what does she really want? Why did she come back? Cutter, his research assistant Stephen Hart, zoologist Abby Maitland, and student paleontologist Connor Temple race to understand what’s happening, while government bureaucrats James Lester and Claudia Brown insist they have to keep the danger secret from the public. As the past threatens to invade the present and destroy the future, Cutter’s crew faces a life-and-death race against time.

Finally, tonight’s 4-hour block of Olympic coverage includes: Swimming finals: men’s 400m freestyle, 400m individual medley, women’s 400m individual medley, 4x100m freestyle relay; beach volleyball, USA match; gymnastics, men’s team competition. All on NBC starting at 8/7c.

Also on tonight:

  • *Series Premiere*Hope for Your Home – TLC @ 8:30/7:30c
  • *Series Premiere*Primeval – BBC America @ 9/8c
  • *Special*2008 Summer Olympic Games – NBC @ 8/7c (Night 2 of 17)

Have a great week everyone! Enjoy the new themes & skins and I’ll see you back next week! ๐Ÿ™‚
