There still may be a glimmer of hope for My Name is Earl fans. TBS is contemplating picking up the series for 13 episodes. The two parties are still discussing details. I think that Earl will fit in with the TBS comedy crowd well, and perhaps even boost the show’s ratings. I’ll let you know if it becomes official. Article here at Zap2It.

Two of your favourite shows may be doing a fast forward come the start of the season. According to Ausiello, Ghost Whisperer and One Tree Hill are rumoured to be jumping ahead in time. Ghost Whisperer would be time warping approximately 5 years to accommodate for Melinda’s supernaturally talented son. One Tree Hill would only be going about a year in the future, perhaps to make Leyton’s absence more plausible? For more on this and other news, check after the jump.

I’m not sure if it’s necessary on Ghost Whisperer, seeing as other shows (Charmed ) were able to make a ‘gifted’ child work with a toddler, but it would definitely be interesting to see how much more powerful than her, Melinda’s son will be. I won’t dispute the One Tree Hill jump because I was originally worried about the 4 year time warp the show presented in Season 5 and it ended up refreshing the show and making it more interesting in my opinion. Perhaps it’s needed again to help move the story lines along? What do you think?

Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) ,will be joining the cast of 24 next season. Sackhoff will be playing Dana Walsh, a data analyst at the New York branch of CTU and will be in a relationship with another new character, Davis Cole (Freddie Prinze Jr.). Walsh will also be fighting to keep personal demons locked away, adding a nice layer of complexity to the character. 24’s eighth season is shaping up to be a great one, with a very strong cast. Look for season 8 on January 17th, 2010. Check out the full article with Ausiello here.
