Hello everyone! One small order of business concerning yesterday’s post. I mistakenly reported that the cast of Futurama, had turned down $75,000 per episode for coming back to do the voices, this was incorrect. 🙁 The truth was that the cast has asked for $75,000 per episode and 20th Century Fox refused to pay that, offering an undisclosed lower amount. I still stand by much of what I said (and my eye rolling) however I do apologize for the misinformation and thank a reader for pointing it out to me so I could remedy it. I do sincerely hope that both sides can reach an agreement that keeps all involved happy and brings the fans the show they love with the original cast they love. Okay after crossing ‘eat crow’ off my to do list, I will move onto some daily news.
It’s been confirmed that John Schneider (Smallville, The Secret Life of The American Teenager) will be returning to the CW in the role of another father figure. No, he won’t be returning to Smallville 🙁 but he will be heading over to 90210 to play resident bad boy hottie Liam’s (Matt Lanter) stepfather. I love this! At the moment it’s only been released as a recurring role, and I hope it lasts longer than one season. Schneider was great on Smallville and on The Secret Life and is missed on both shows, although the sting will be lessened by his return to our televisions on a weekly basis. Source
More News after the jump.
Speaking of 90210, according to Ausiello, Jennie Garth has been asked back for a multi-episode arc this fall. Her veteran character, Kelly, will be giving principal Harry words of wisdom on dealing with Annie and her situation. I’m happy about this, I like Kelly and I liked seeing Jenny Garth back on the show. Do I think we need all the old cast back? No, but I do think that Kelly fits the role of the guidance counsellor and was great last season. What do you think? Are you happy about Kelly coming back and what do you think Annie’s little situation is?
The newest series in the Stargate franchise, Stargate Universe, will premiere on Syfy on Friday October 2nd with a two hour episode. The drama will be focused on a secret base that comes under attack that forces them to escape through a Stargate only to find themselves on an ancient ship set for places unseen and unknown. The group of civilians, soldiers and scientists are going to have to learn how to work together to survive and hopefully figure out the ship’s secrets to be able to return to Earth. The series stars Robert Carlyle (24: Redemption), Lou Diamond Phillips (Numb3rs, I’m a Celebrity), Ming-Na ( ER, Push) , and David Blue (Ugly Betty, Moonlight) just to name a few. I’ve never been a huge Stargate fan, but I do like Lou Diamond Phillips so I may tune in just to see him on a new show. What about you? Happy about the new series? Source
Wisteria Lane is heating up! The sexy, Jesse Metcalfe is coming back to Wisteria Lane and he’s going to stir things up in the way only Desperate Housewives can do 😉 Last we knew Metcalfe’s character, John Rowland, was married to a well-to-do daddy’s girl, but we’re going to see him divorced and on his own two feet. He’ll be causing some drama in the Solis family when Carlos’ niece sets her eyes on him after learning he was once in a relationship with Gaby. This makes Gabrielle upset and I’m sure we’ll see sparks fly! Metcalfe will be in the third and fourth episodes of the upcoming season, and I am happy. I love the drama that this cutie always brings in his wake! Is it September yet? Source
According to Ausiello, Mischa Barton’s ‘medical issue’ has forced the powers that be behind The Beautiful Life, to make a back up plan in the chance that Barton doesn’t get herself together and well before the show needs to start filming. It looks like while they won’t be recasting Barton’s character, Sonja Stone, it will be a recurring character that would be a lot like that character. Looks like casting for this new character that might be named “Jane” , is already underway. Hmm.. Can’t say I didn’t see it coming, and I understand because with or without Mischa the show must go on, but I also don’t think the show will be as successful without Barton. Here’s an idea, the CW could get smart and push The Beautiful Life to a midseason slot, and pick up the inspired and brilliant new show, Body Politic. Okay I know not likely but a girl can hope.. *sigh* I guess this is where we say get better Mischa and hopefully all works out. Question: Will you be tuning into The Beautiful Life, without Mischa Barton?
Alright, that’s it for today but don’t forget tonight is the season premiere of Hell’s Kitchen 🙂 Tomorrow I’ll be recapping it and letting you know my thoughts on it, Have a great day.
