TV News – 9/29/09

It’s Tuesday and I’m feeling a little better, still have sniffles and a fever but my head doesn’t hurt as much so that’s a bonus 🙂 I don’t have tons of news today, but I’ve managed to dig up a little for you, so let’s get started.

I really have tried not to jump on the train that is the Jon & Kate Plus Eight publicity, but I will report that TLC is officially changing the name from Jon & Kate Plus Eight to Kate Plus Eight. The show will still focus on the children, and on Kate being a divorced mom, with occasional appearances by Jon. The whole Gosselin story is exhausted but I thought anyone who still watches this would be interested in the show’s name change. Source

More news after the jump.

Kevin Zegers (TransAmerica) has been cast to play a love interest for Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) on Gossip Girl. Jenny hasn’t had much action this year while the older cast members have been off living college life, but that will change when Zegers comes into her life as the delish bad boy, named Damien. My only reservation with this pairing is that Zegers is 25 in real life and Momsen is only 16, that’s quite the difference is it not? Anyways, stay tuned for more information on when Zegers will get his stint on Gossip Girl. Source

Comedy Central will be launching it’s new fall season starting October 7th, with all new episodes of all your favorites and a couple new shows. The new shows include Secret Girlfriend which is a look into the crazy life of a bachelor and his partying habits. Also new this season is The Jeff Dunham Show which stars ventriloquist-comedian Jeff Dunham and will bring all his characters to our televisions on a regular basis. Along with the news shows expect new seasons of shows like South Park and Tosh.0. For a full look at the premiere schedule head over to The Futon Critic

Finally in some Daytime TV news, Jonathan Jackson is returning to General Hospital in the role of Lucky Spencer. GH fans will remember him as the original Lucky, the one close to our hearts. That is not to dismiss the great job that Greg Vaughn has done in the role, but he never really felt like the real Lucky to me. I fell in love with Jonathan Jackson as Lucky when I was a teenager and will probably start watching more when he returns. Yay! Source

Well, that’s all folks. Check back tomorrow for my Hell’s Kitchen review and don’t miss new episodes of NCIS, Hell’s Kitchen, and The Biggest Loser tonight, check Jenny’s schedule and your local listings for times. Enjoy! 😀
