That One Show That Grabs You and Won’t Let Go…

Three Rivers on CBS

Hey all. I don’t normally have time to write stuff like this. In fact, I should be asleep or working. But I just finished watching the premeire of Three Rivers and I couldn’t stop this line of thought in my head. I don’t know about you, but it seems like every season when the new show info & trailers start coming out, one show grabs my attention and I wait on pins and needles for it to start. A few shows in the past that have done that to me are Alias, Burn Notice, (Ok, that isn’t a trend, is it? LOL), Dollhouse, Moonlight & Jericho. Now, there are more, but those are the ones that really come to mind. Obviously, some of those didn’t work out too well. Moonlight & Jericho didn’t last long, much to my dismay, and I stopped watching Dollhouse pretty quickly (can’t really explain why. just lost interest, no matter how much I WANTED to like it. 🙁 ). Alias & Burn Notice are 2 of the successful ones. But that brings me to why I’m rambling. 🙂 Read why after the jump…

Moonlight & Jericho have 1 major thing in common each with the new show Three Rivers. First, Moonlight starred Alex O’Loughlin, who is also the lead in Three Rivers. Second, Carol Barbee was the executive producer of Jericho and is also the executive producer of Three Rivers. I’m sure that really has nothing to do with it, considering CB was also the EP of A Beautiful Life, which was the first show cancelled this season, but still. *grin*

Alex O'Loughlin as Dr. Andy Yablonski on Three Rivers on CBS

Watching the premiere episode of Three Rivers tonight, finally, I wasn’t disappointed at all. I’ve read that a lot of people like it but don’t love it. I guess I’m in the minority, because I truly did love it. Alex O. is AMAZING. Not only is he so freakin hot and fun to look at, but he also just seems to have a warmth about him on screen. I loved and adored him on Moonlight, and I’m already in love with his character, Dr. Andy Yablonski. (Click the pictures of Alex, Daniel or Katherine for bigger versions!)

Daniel Henney as Dr. David Lee on Three Rivers on CBS

Daniel Henney, who plays Dr. David Lee, is also extremely sexy and fun to look at. *laugh* (I’m a woman, I know these things. 😉 ) His character will definitely bring some fun, sexiness to the show. Dr. Yablonski is hot, but Dr. Lee is a playboy (in a nice way 🙂 ).

Katherine Moennig as Dr. Miranda Foster on Three Rivers on CBS

Katherine Moennig plays Dr. Miranda Foster. She played Shane on The L Word, which I didn’t watch really, but I saw a few episodes with my sister and always liked her. I’m straight, but I don’t think I’d kick her out of bed for eating crackers. 😉 In the first episode, her character was great. We learned a bit right off the bat about her childhood, and her interactions with a 14-year-old patient were sweet. Her character is very upfront and I am going to really enjoy watching her (and I’m HOPING that she and Andy get together at some point. hubba hubba!) I know that may not make a lot of sense to everyone, but to me, it makes the show even that much more fun to watch.

Anyway, the point to all this is that I REALLY enjoyed Three Rivers, much like I did the other shows I named above, and I will be truly disappointed if it gets cancelled. Comment and let me know… Did you like the show? Also, what shows are on your list of shows that grabbed you from the start and wouldn’t let go? 🙂

I loved it too! Very much. And I’ll be very upset if it gets canceled. And I’m with you on Kate Moennig – I’m so very straight but if I wasn’t, I’d do her. She’s hot hot hot.

Let’s hope they don’t cancel our show on us!

I liked the show also. And, I thought I was straight until seeing Kate Moennig on the L Word. Now, not so sure. LOL

I’m so glad to see a positive blog about Three Rivers. Being an Alex O’Loughlin fan, I really looked forward to this show and it did not disappoint. Hope lots of people show up this Sunday at 9 p.m. on CBS to watch the next episode. It should be a good one.

Thank you for a great article. I completely agree with you on all fronts. I also enjoyed Three Rivers very much. All the actors are perfectly cast for their roles, in my opinion. Three Rivers and the talented young cast should be given a chance to develop their characters’ background, personal histories and personalities in future episodes. I believe Three Rivers is a very refreshing and unique new medical drama, dealing with organ transplantation, which has never been done before on any television network.
