TV News – 10/12/09

Happy Monday, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! Sorry the news is up late, but I’ve been nursing a migraine and doing the family dinner thing. Here it is now, enjoy!

Fox has announced it’s Fall finales and a Carrie Underwood special all in December. Glee will finish up it’s first 13 episodes on December 9th at 9 pm and then will return in the spring. Human Target will take over Glee’s place in January. Also So You Think You Can Dance will have it’s fall finale on December 15th and 16th. In some music special news, Fox will air Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special on December 7th and again on December 22nd, it will have artists like David Cook and Brad Paisley as well as the star herself Carrie Underwood. I’m happy about all of this except the break for Glee, I can’t wait from December until Spring for more new episodes. Source

More after the jump.

FlashForward has been picked up for a full season by ABC and we’ll all learn why April 29, 2010 is so important. The new series has been strong and pulling a decent amount of viewers and earning the show the number 3 spot in ratings. I’m okay with this news, but I haven’t gotten into the show yet, but I will once I get caught up. Source

Marc Cherry the creator of Desperate Housewives is working on a new show for ABC, that is said to be different from Housewives but will still have the same writing style. The show is yet to be named and no it isn’t a spin off as far as we know. We’ll see it some time next season. Source

Rachael Harris (In The Motherhood) will be heading over to Cougar Town, to play the role of Shanna, an enemy for Courteney Cox. As well as Harris, Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller,FlashForward), will be on the show as Harris’ husband, who later develops a crush on Courteney’s character. This could be good for the comedy that is amusing but not my favorite by a long shot. Source
