TV News – 11/3/09

Tuesday and I’m so sorry I’ve been gone longer than planned, we had an issue with the cable hook up so I’ve been without TV (gasp!) and without internet πŸ™ It was a very hard time for me.. lol. πŸ˜‰ The new house is fabulous, and we’re all adjusting, with a lot of unpacking left to be done. Anyways, I’m back, and here’s the news. πŸ˜€

TNT has picked up Southland, bringing the show to the cable network in January. πŸ˜€ The network has gotten the rights to the six new episodes of season two, along with the seven episodes of season one. They will air in order starting with the first episode of season one on January 12th. This is FABULOUS news!! Southland is a show that is worthy of a cable network, it’s hard hitting, and a series that gives us suspense, realism, and excitement we want to see without the neat packaging other shows bring us. I applaud TNT for their wisdom, and look forward to watching in January. Source

More after the jump

Law & Order: Criminal Intent has brought Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (The Color of Money, Without a Trace), on as the new captain. Mastrantonio will be playing “the first female captain for the Majore Case Squad”, alongside Jeff Goldblum who will be a full time lead this season as Detective Zach Nichols. I always liked Law & Order: CI but I think it was more for Vincent D’Onofrio’s character and I’m not sure how this ninth season will play out only that I’m torn on whether or not to watch without my favorite character. What about you, do you think it’s time for Criminal Intent to just give it a rest already? Source

V is landing tonight but it’s already announcing a change of leadership. Scott Rosenbaum who is an executive producer on Chuck will be replacing Scott Peters as the show runner, even if Peters plans on staying on as an executive producer of the show. V will be airing four episodes in November, then it will be going on a hiatus until January, with new episodes airing in March so it doesn’t have to compete with American Idol or The Winter Olympics. I’m not a fan yet, but I’ll be tuning in tonight (or at least TiVo it) to give it a chance. It’s on tonight at 8 pm on ABC. Source

Robert Wagner, has been cast to play Tony’s father on NCIS, and the story line will take place in January on the 150th episode of the show. I’m excited about this because I think Tony is very amusing and any story involving him is bound to be eventful. Source

Hottie Blair Underwood is coming back to stir up trouble on The New Adventures of Old Christine sometime late December or January. Ausiello believes that Underwood will be coming to cause issues with Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and her current boyfriend, Max (Eric McCormack). I think that this will make for a decent laugh if nothing else Underwood is easy on the eyes. Source

Fisher Stevens (Short Circuit, Numb3rs</strong) will be joining the cast of Ugly Betty in a role that could be considered spoilerish so if you want to know head over to Ausiello so I don’t spoil it for you πŸ˜€

That’s all for today I’ll be back tomorrow with more news. Have a good night.

The answer to LOCI is simple. Without the superb Vincent D’Onofrio, the show will be a dull, formulaic detective show starring an equally dull actor who manages to make his twitches and tics oredictable.

I have no intention of watching Law and Order: Criminal Intent since they have uncermoniously booted off the charismatic, sexy, and brilliant Mr. D’Onofrio. I’m also astounded that the talented Kathryn Erbe also was dumped from the show..

So, goodbye to my fascinating Bobby Goren and smarky Alexandra Eames. Those of your fans who appreciated the intelligence, wit, and top-notch performances the actors brought to these characters are sorely going to miss them!!!

PS. I’m willing to sign any petition that officially declares Dick Wolfe and the rest of the PTB legally brain dead!!!!!

I agree without Goren and Eames the show will be dull. As to why I’m more than likely not tuning in.
