TV News – 11/09/09

Hello all! How is everyone’s Monday going? Mine is wet, I’m starting to feel a connection with the characters from Twilight, seeing as we all live in rainy, damp places. Don’t get me wrong it’s beautiful here, but the winter months are rainy. Really rainy. Anyways, other than that my day is great so far, let’s get to some news.

Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica) and Virginia Williams (How I Met Your Mother) will be joining the cast of Facing Kate a new series being filmed for the USA network. The series is about a lawyer Kate (Sarah Shahi) who gets a divorce and changes her career path, to one of a mediator after her father passes away. Trucco will play Kate’s ex-boyfriend who is still in love with her, and Williams will be playing Kate’s widowed stepmother. I really like Trucco (who really resembles Dane Cook, doesn’t he?) on Battlestar and I think this new series sounds promising.

More after the jump.

Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place), will be playing Harriet in the Disney Channel’s TV movie of Harriet the Spy. The newest version of the movie will have Harriet coming into the 21st century wanting to be the class blogger instead of the class newspaper girl. I’m a geek so I’ll probably watch if for no other reason than to compare the new one to the 1996 version that starred Michelle Trachtenberg (Gossip Girl, Mercy) and Rosie O’Donnell (The View). The fabulous Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) will be doing a Christmas special called, Jennifer Hudson: I’ll be Home for Christmas which will air on ABC on December 14th. There will be a visit by Michael Buble who will also do a duet with Hudson. I’m excited for this as I have loved Hudson’s voice since her time on American Idol and she was brilliant in Dreamgirls so I will definitely tune in for this! Source

Pam Grier (The L Word), is joining the cast of Smallville as Agent Amanda Waller sometime in late January. I love Grier so this should be a great story line. Source

That’s it for today but I’ll be back tomorrow with more news.
