TV News – 11/18/09

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already, this week is flying by. I am super busy today and tomorrow with a fundraiser for my daughter’s school so I’m short on time, so I’ll just get to the news.

Brooke Shields is heading over to The Middle sometime early 2010 to guest star as Patricia Heaton’s neighbour. She’ll be “a single mother with four sons that terrorize the neighborhood.” I got the sense from the article that people are going to want to please her and are kind of scared of her. Sounds like fun. I’m not sure how long the guest stint will last, perhaps only one episode, but I think it’ll be a very funny addition. Source

More after the jump.

Smallville is going to be bringing us a two-hour movie called, Smallville: Absolute Justice. It was originally two episodes that have now been melded together to make a two-hour TV movie event. Expect it to air on The CW network on February 5th, 2010. I’m semi-excited, more for the debut of Hawkman (Michael Shanks) than anything but what about you? Will you tune in? Source

Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) is heading over to TNT in a pilot called Delta Blues. He’ll play “a Memphis cop name Dwight Hendricks who moonlights as an Elvis impersonator and lives with his mom.” Sounds like a role right up Lee’s alley. 🙂 I’m not overly jazzed about this yet, but Lee is amusing so I’ll probably give the show a chance when it does finally air. No news on when that will be yet. Source

ABC Family has bumped up the return dates for two of our favorite shows. The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Make It or Break It will return on Monday, January 4th as opposed to the original date of January 11th. I’m actually quite excited about this, seeing as I have become a fan of both shows, but particularly of Make It or Break It. I admire a network trying to put some more family friendly teen shows out that still touch on difficult topics such as sex and teen pregnancy. Source

On other return date news, USA has scheduled the return of Burn Notice (Thursday, Jan 28th, 2010 at 9/8c), the new series White Collar (same date at 10/9c) and Psych (the following day, Friday, Jan 29th, 2010 at 10/9c). Source

Okay that’s all I’ve got for you today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with more. Enjoy your night and don’t miss all new episodes of Glee at 9 pm on Fox, or of Criminal Minds also at 9 pm on CBS. Tough decision which one to watch, and which to tape isn’t it? 😀
