TV News – 12/10/09

It’s Thursday and it’s before 8 pm so I think I’m doing okay! 😀 Can you believe that Christmas is only two weeks away? This year is flying by. Anyways, let’s get to the news.

ABC’s newest drama, The Deep End, will be coming to your televisions starting January 21st at 8 pm and I for one am excited! The show is about a group of law school grads hired by a prominent law firm in LA, think Grey’s Anatomy but with lawyers. It sounds great, it looks great, but more importantly it has a great cast. Tina Majorino (Veronica Mars, Big Love) is one of my favorite actresses, and Billy Zane (Samantha Who?) is going to be amazing as the hard ass boss. Matt Long (Sydney White) is definitely eye candy, so overall it’s a fabulous cast. Check out the preview clip below and judge for yourself. Source

More after the jump.

This does not bode well for Three Rivers but the wonderful, Alfre Woodard (Three Rivers, Desperate Housewives), is joining the cast of Delta Blues. Woodard will be playing “a new lieutenant who tries to lord it over Dwight (Jason Lee).” Although Delta Blues sounds like it’s going to be amusing, I’m not happy. I love Three Rivers and Woodard was fantastic as Dr. Sophia Jordan, so I’m hoping the series will continue without her. Fingers crossed people! Source

Hugh Laurie is finally going to step behind the camera on House and direct an episode. The star says he is, “…thrilled, daunted and honoured-with a ‘u’- by this new responsibility. House scripts are Faberge eggs, and I will try my very hardest not to drop this one on a stone floor.” 😀 I’m so excited for this, Laurie is a tremendous talent as an actor, but he has quite a few experiences behind the camera as well, so he will definitely bring a lot to this new challenge. Expect the episode some time in early 2010. Congrats Hugh! Source

Finally for today, I have included a clip that promotes tonight’s episode of Bones that is special for many reasons. One it’s the holiday episode and Brennan’s dad’s back, but second and most important, Emily Deschanel’s sister Zooey Deschanel (500 Days of Summer) is guest starring tonight! That’s great news and I’m excited! Check out the clip below!

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back tomorrow with more news! Don’t miss new episodes of Bones and Fringe both on FOX starting at 8 pm.
