TV News – 12/18/09

It was a busy day today, with a special breakfast with Santa at my daughter’s school, and doing some shopping so I’m running behind. Guess what it’s only one week until Christmas Day! Also Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate as I know today is the last day of celebration. Let’s get to some news.

Joe Manganiello, who was recently cast as Alcide on True Blood is going to be dropping by One Tree Hill for an episode before filming begins on True Blood. Not sure what will be in store for Brooke’s ex-boyfriend Owen (Manganiello) when he drops by One Tree but whatever it is, I for one will enjoy the eye candy, won’t you? 😉 Source

More after the jump.

Also in more True Blood news, Lindsay Pulsipher (The Beast), has been cast to play Crystal. “Crystal is a mysterious and haunting beautiful young woman who shares an electric connection with Jason.” So in other words, she’s at some point going to shack up with him I’m sure, because that’s what Jason does. 😀 I think this is great casting and I’m all for Jason getting back to some regular behaviour and less of the crazy church stuff. 😀 Source

Boris Kodjoe (Soul Food) has just been cast in The Undercovers. He’ll play Steven, the husband in the married couple spy team. I think this is a wonderful casting job, he’s attractive, funny and talented. What do you think? Source

ABC is trying to burn off the remaining episodes of Better Off Ted and Scrubs or so it seems. The network has scheduled episodes of the shows to run in primetime New Year’s Day as well as starting January 5th we’ll get a two back to back episodes of both shows on Tuesday nights. By January 12th Scrubs will be through 11 of it’s 18 episodes and Ted will be through 10 of it’s 13. I’m sure this has something to do with low ratings but also with the need to make room in the schedule for new comers Romantically Challenged and Happy Town. Who knows but if you love Scrubs or Better Off Ted then get ready to watch them a lot in the next little bit. Source

Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) has been named the host of the new NBC game show Perfect 10. The game show has contestants trying to complete 10 games in 10 minutes to win a $1 Million Dollar Prize. I think Fieri is an excellent choice, he’s very witty, and a great people person so he’ll make the show interesting. Source

Amanda Seyfried, is leaving the fold on Big Love. Seyfried plays the Bill Paxton’s oldest child, Sarah, but she’s moving away. Seyfried who played the lead in Mamma Mia! opposite Meryl Streep, is leaving to pursue her blooming movie career and we wish her well! Source

Alright that’s all for tonight, I’m off to post the interview with Candace Cameron Bure, so look for that a bit later. Don’t miss an all new episode of Dollhouse tonight starting at 8 pm on FOX.
