TV News – 2/5/2010

Yay Friday 😀 I’m hoping to have a bit more news for you so let’s get started.

Sheryl Crow is going to be doing a large recurring role on Cougar Town starting sometime in March. Crow will be playing Grayson’s (Josh Hopkins) new girlfriend, but no other details have been released. I am starting to really enjoy this comedy and Hopkins is adorable so Crow is lucky to get to star opposite him. I just hope that Crow is better in this role than she was in that big screen flop The Minus Man in 1999. Source

More after the jump.

I recently reported that Joe Jonas was in talks to appear on Brothers & Sisters as a young Tommy Walker (Balthazar Getty), but that has been nixed. The role has gone to Cody Longo (Make It or Break It) after the Jonas brother had a “scheduling conflict”. I personally think that the producers came to their senses and realized that Joe Jonas would not be the best fit, Longo is a WAY better choice and looks even more like Getty than Joe Jonas did. I’m excited for this casting, and although Longo is a little below my years, he is a much cuter choice too. 😀 Source

Henry Winkler (aka The Fonz from Happy Days) is going to be joining the cast of Royal Pains as “Eddie Larson, the absentee father of Hank and Evan.” Winkler will make his appearance in the second season and will stir up trouble for the Hampton brothers. I love Winkler, he’s always amusing so I’m looking forward to see how he does with this role aren’t you? Source

FlashForward has already gone through so many changes behind the camera, and it’s getting another one because David S. Goyer is no longer going to be the show runner. Goyer will still be involved in the show but just won’t be the head honcho anymore. I don’t foresee this as good news for the already struggling drama, do you? Source

Some casting news for you about a few new pilots. Let’s start with the beautiful Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show) being cast as the female lead in the new ABC comedy Awkward Situations for Men. I love Prepon, I loved her on That 70’s Show and I also loved her on October Road so I’m looking forward to this show.

Next we have cutie Bret Harrison (Reaper) being cast as the lead in the new Adam Goldberg comedy for FOX. The comedy is centered around about of brainiacs in their twenties who “crack computer security systems”. Harrison was fabulous in Reaper (which in my opinion was so underrated by so many.) and I am happy he’s coming back to our TVs.

Finally Michael Kelly (The Sopranos) will be joining the Criminal Minds spinoff which will be launched in spring on an episode of the original. I’m so excited for this series but I’m still crossing all my crossables that it succeeds like NCIS:LA has. Source

That’s it for now, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy a new episode of Ghost Whisperer tonight at 8 pm on CBS.
