TV News – 2/24/10

Happy hump day everyone! 😉 Wednesday and we’re half way through our weeks, how is your week so far? Mine has it’s ups and downs, today was an up. I took my daughter over to a friend’s house for a play date. Mundane to some, but it was a great day for all involved. It’s always nice to see your child interacting well with other kids, it makes me feel like I just might be doing something right. 😀 Anyways, enough Mommy rambling, let’s get to the news!

David Anders

David Anders (24, Alias) has been cast in multiple episodes of The CW’s hit show, Vampire Diaries. Anders will play “Elena and Jeremy’s uncle, Jonathan Gilbert, who comes to Mystic Falls to cause some trouble”. Look for Uncle Jonathan to make his appearance in April. I’m sure you can all figure out what this means for Anders stint on 24 but if not beware the link contains spoilerish details. Source

More after the jump

Ausiello is bringing us the details as to why Adam Rodriguez is really returning to CSI: Miami. Check out the interview here, if you have the need to have any remaining questions solved. My only hope is that they don’t get rid of any of the new characters, especially Eddie Cibrian’s, because I enjoy him immensely on many levels. 😀

Caroline Dhavernas (Wonderfalls) will be one of the three leads in the new ABC pilot Off the Map, by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice). Caroline will be playing “Lily, a young doctor who deals with tragedy by moving to a jungle in South America to work in a free clinic.”. The show sounds promising, and I hope that a twist on the typical medical show will help to keep it interesting. Source

ABC Family is holding Open casting calls around the US for the new series, Huge. They are looking for plus-size people who can pass for 15-16 years old. Huge is about six teenagers who are at a weight-loss camp. We will learn about their trials, tribulations and triumphs. For the complete list of casting calls and locations head over to The Futon Critic

That’s it for news today but I’ll be back later with recap of the Top 12 boys performances on American Idol later tonight.
