Tonight was the result show on American Idol, meaning that 2 girls and 2 boys went home. I was shocked by some of the results, I disliked the group performance, but I loved seeing Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta perform. Jump with me if you want to hear the results.
We started with an odd group performance of America Boy, it was cheesy and the boys sounded really off. They all looked uncomfortable.
Next up are the results for the women, and the first girl going home is… Janell Wheeler. Well, I called that one. Unfortunately, Haeley Vaughn is safe and that makes my stomach turn. Next week, next week…
We get a stellar performance by the ultra cool, Allison Iraheta. She sings Scars and she really has such an amazing voice. Love her outfit too!
After that high point, we get the second bit of news for the girls and Ashley Rodriguez is eliminated. Wow, she was bad on Tuesday but I didn’t think she’d go. She wasn’t my favorite but considering how everyone was ga-ga over her I thought she’d at least make the top 10. She sang Happy again, and it was equally painful today.
After a commercial break, we are back with the first set of results for the guys. No surprise in my opinion but it’s Joe Munoz, that goes home. I called that one too, so far I have 2 out of 3. 😀 He’s just not ready for this competition and his nerves knocked him around.
Loved the Kris Allen performance of Let It Be and the video montage was heart breaking. You can read my interview with Kris Allen here, and learn all about his trip to Haiti. I was aggravated that the donations by text were only valid in the United States, because I would have donated.
After all that, we have the final results for the boys, and it’s a slight shocker… Tyler Grady. Well I suppose that people just didn’t want to time warp back to the 70’s with him. 🙂 If I’m honest, then I was really surprised because I could have sworn that, ‘The Mullet Man’ Alex Lambert was going home. Tyler wasn’t very gracious about his loss, he blamed his elimination on lack of criticism from the judges. They can’t sing for you 😉
That’s it for this week, I was 50% correct, and that is a passing grade so be sure to check back next week for my take on the Top 20 and their performances. My advice to all the competitors… STEP IT UP next week.
