TV News – 3/31/10

What a beautiful day in the neighbourhood! ๐Ÿ˜€ I had the honour of interviewing David Cook this morning and it was a wonderful experience. He was very eloquent when he described his trip to Ethiopia and it moved me. Look for the interview later this week. Now onto some news.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon is going to guest star on 30 Rock thanks to Tina Fey wanting him to be on the show. There are no exact details yet, just that it’ll be close to the end of the season. I’m happy with this casting, I really enjoy Matt Damon. Both his acting and his looks ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Damon will make a great guest star and I’m sure he’ll bring a lot to the show. Source

More after the jump

Alex Lambert who was recently voted off American Idol is getting another chance at fame. The young man will be moving into the If I Can Dream house. The house is a for a series created by Simon Fuller, that documents the lives of six rising stars living in Hollywood. You can watch the show on live stream or every Monday night at midnight on Hulu. I’m happy for him, it’s another chance and he deserves it, now cut the mullet ๐Ÿ™‚ Source

Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars, Party Down) has signed onto the NBC comedy pilot, Friends with Benefits. The comedy follows five friends who date each other while looking for their soul mates. I loved Hansen on Veronica Mars, and think he’ll make a great addition to the cast. Source

Syfy has announced their summer line up, and I’m excited! We have the return of Warehouse 13 on July 13th, and the premiere of the new series, Haven on July 9th. Haven is about a FBI agent who comes to the small town of Haven to solve the murder of a local. We’ll eventually see how the town is a bit strange, and we learn that it’s a place filled with people who have supernatural abilities. The show is based on Stephen King’s story, The Colorado Kid. It sounds great. Also some new reality shows, Mary Knows Best and Paranormal Investigators which will make for a Thursday night of Reality. For more on these new series and other dates check out The Futon Critic.

Kristen over at E!Online is running her annual Save One Show campaign, and there are a lot of great shows on the list, including my choice Life UneXpected! I’m giving you the link to go vote and help to save your favorite from the list, because we as TV fans have to stick together. Vote with your gut, but I honestly think that Life UneXpected needs our help more than the others. It’s a great show that fails to get the recognition and ratings it deserves. Parenthood also on the list, I believe has a stronger chance of sticking around, so go vote now! Save One Show

That’s all for today, but I’ll be back later with some more interviews and reviews. Don’t miss American Idol tonight at 9 pm on FOX.
