TV News – 4/30/10

TGIF!! It’s been one of those days, I was up all night with my daughter who has a bladder infection, so I’m a little over tired and just a tad cranky (just ask my husband lol). There’s a little bit of news for you today so let’s get to it.

Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) has just joined the cast of The Walking Dead as the female lead. Callies will play “Lori Grimes, the slowly-unravelling wife of the show’s hero, Rick (Andrew Lincoln).” I am so excited for this show now because I love Callies, she was fabulous on Prison Break and I’ve missed her on my TV set haven’t you? More after the jump.

Diana Agron, who plays Quinn on Glee, has landed her first movie role. She’ll be joining the cast of I Am Number Four, a new sci-fi movie based on the novel by Jobie Hughes and James Frey. It’s “about nine aliens who escape from their home planet just before it’s destroyed. The title character [Number Four] played by Alex Pettyfer, disguises himself as a high school student.” The film is boasting some huge producers in the way of Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay, giving Agron a great start into movies. Congrats! Source

I don’t usually post petitions to save shows to my column, but there is one to save 10 Things I Hate About You and if you are interested you can sign it here.

Good news that David McCallum has signed a deal to continue on NCIS for next season. McCallum who plays the adorable Dr. Donald Mallard (aka Ducky) is one of my favorite characters. Unfortunately we’re yet to hear of deals for Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray and Michael Weatherly, hopefully good news will come for them soon. Source

Zoe Kravitz (the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet), has been cast to guest star on Californication! Wow am I that old that she’s old enough to be on that show already? Yikes. Anyways, she’ll play “Zoe, who recruits Becca for her all-girl band” and you can expect to see her in sex episodes. What are your thoughts on this casting? Source

That’s all for today, don’t miss all new episodes of Smallville at 8 pm on CW and Miami Medical at 10 pm on CBS. Happy weekend!
