If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/14/10

Jenny’s Choice

There is lots on tonight! I debated awhile on what to recommend, whether to go reality again with The Bachelorette or American Pickers, but I finally settled on The Good Guys. This new comedy by Matt Nix (Burn Notice creator) stars Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) and Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks’ son! heh), and is about what happens when an old-school cop and a modern-day detective expose the big picture of small crime.

The comedic timing of Whitford and the dry Hanks fit well together, and the supporting cast, including Reaper‘s Jenny Wade as Assistant District Attorney Liz Traynor, who is ex-girlfriend to Hanks’ character, Diana-Maria Riva (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The West Wing) as Lieutenant Ana Ruiz, and RonReaco Lee (The Shield) as sort-of criminal turned informant, round out the gang well. If you haven’t watched this new comedy yet, you can catch the full episodes on FOX.com. Watch tonight’s new episode on FOX at 9/8c.

Megan’s Choice

I, like Jenny, had a hard time choosing just one show today, but when Jenny chose The Good Guys, it made my choice a little easier. I’ve decided to appeal to all generations with my choice of … The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Yes, I’m serious. I have to say that while at times the show is a bit redundant, it has some great story lines and actually tries to teach kids lessons about how sex changes your life. This may not be for everyone, but I believe that if you are a mom, a teenager or just someone who loves good drama created by Brenda Hampton (creator of 7th Heaven), you should check this show out.

Tonight, we’ll see Amy struggle with choices about a music program, Adrian deal with morning sickness from the pregnancy she’s been hiding from Ben, and Jack is still looking for a place to stay. Will Ben find out the truth? What’s Adrian going to do? It’s going to be full of drama, emotion and teenage issues, check it out at 8/7c on ABC Family.
