TV News – 7/27/10

I’m back! Comic-Con was fabulous, with a few blips of “What the Hell?” thrown in. I would have had the news up much earlier but my need to sleep off the Con combined with my daughter living attached at my hip has made for a long day. Without further adieu here’s your news!

There are rumours that Billy Baldwin (Gossip Girl), will be coming to Parenthood to play a love interest for Sarah (Lauren Graham). Now Jason Ritter was playing her love interest but he’s busy with his new awesome show, The Event, which premieres this fall on NBC. Although it hasn’t been made “official” yet, Ausiello is reporting about this so I’d say it’s pretty solid. I do enjoy Baldwin and think that if nothing else Sarah deserves a handsome love interest and he fits the bill. What are your thoughts?Source

More after the jump.

Warning spoiler-ish Glee news ahead, stop reading if you don’t want to be spoiled. Okay, consider yourself warned, here we go. Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock) has just signed on to play the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline, a role previously filled by Idina Menzel. However, Menzel’s character, Shelby, adopted baby Beth and had plans to leave the limelight at the end of season 1. This fits in perfectly story wise, and I feel that Jackson will be a fantastic replacement for the Broadway diva. Don’t worry though, I’m sure that Menzel will be around this season too, after all she is still Rachel’s mom. 🙂 Source

Eric Christian Olsen (Brothers & Sisters), has been promoted to a series regular on NCIS: Los Angeles. Olsen plays LAPD Liaison Marty Deeks, an undercover detective, who was recruited to the team by Hetty (the wonderful Linda Hunt). I think that Olsen really meshed well with the current cast, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for him.Source

Enrique Murciano (Without a Trace), has been dropped from the cast of the new Shonda Rhimes series, Off the Map. It’s being said it was due to “creative reasons”, and his original character will not be recast. I’m not overly excited about this news, frankly because I could take or leave Murciano, what about you? Source

That’s all for now, I hoped you enjoyed having me back. There will be lots of Comic-Con posts to come in the next few days and I can’t wait to share all the experiences with you. Goodnight, be back soon.
