TV News – 9/13/10

Today was a big day in my house. My baby girl started kindergarten today! She’s only half days for today and tomorrow but then Wednesday she’ll be there the full day. When did my baby grow up? 🙁 Okay, enough hormonal mommy tears, let’s talk TV news.

Jenny is ecstatic that The Glades has been renewed for a second season. I personally am yet to jump on board, but I know a lot of you have! A&E has picked up the show for another 13 episode season that can be expected in 2011. So are you as excited as Jenny? Source

More after the jump.

Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny on The Big Bang Theory, has had a bad fall while horseback riding and has broken her leg. She is recovering in hospital in Los Angeles, but she will not be able to tape the episode scheduled to shoot tomorrow night. Cuoco will be written out of the episode, and then the show will take a week-long hiatus that was already scheduled (lucky for her!). I assume that if necessary the writers, who are brilliant, will manage to work the injury into the show for further episodes. We send her get well vibes and hope she heals quickly. Source

A little bit of scoop for you about the upcoming Twin Peaks inspired episode of Psych. The theme song is going to be revamped and sung by none other than Julee Cruise. Cruise’s 1989 hit, Falling, was the theme song for the original show, and she also guest starred a lot on the show as a singer at a local bar. I’m excited for this. Leave it to Psych to embrace the essence of an old show even down to the delicious sounds of the voice that sang the original them song. Nicely played! Source

Just in passing be sure to catch the new Lifetime movie, The 19th Wife tonight at 9/8 c . It shows what happens when a murder shakes a community of mormons, who believe in polygamy. The movie stars Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife, Patricia Wettig (Brothers & Sisters) and Jeff Hephner (Hellcats). I’ll have an interview with the fabulous Jeff Hephner up in a bit about his experience with this movie and his role on the new CW show, Hellcats. Sweet dreams.
