Tonight’s sole series premiere is Sister Wives on TLC at 10/9c. This engrossing seven-part series followes Kody Brown, his three — soon to be four — wives and their many children. The show explores the complex daily life of a polygamist family. It introduces audiences to husband Kody — along with his three wives; Meri, Janelle and Christine and their combined 13 children — showing how they attempt to navigate life as a “normal” family in a society that shuns their lifestyle. From their unconventional family structure and living arrangements to financial challenges, each half hour episode exposes the inner workings of a polygamist household, revealing the unexpectedly tight-knit and loving relationships between Kody’s wives.

There are quite a few season premieres tonight, too. On the major networks, it’s the 2-hour premiere of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition at 7/6c, Desperate Housewives at 9/8c & Brothers & Sisters at 10:01/9:01c, all on ABC.

It’s also the 90-minute season premiere of The Amazing Race at 8:30/7:30c & Undercover Boss at 10/9c, both on CBS.

FOX has the season premieres of their Sunday comedies, including The Simpsons at 8/7c, The Cleveland Show at 8:30/7:30c, & the 1-hour premiere of Family Guy at 9/8c.

Then on cable, it’s the premiere of Dexter on Showtime at 9/8c.

Finally, it’s the premieres of Bored to Death at 10/9c, followed by the premiere of Eastbound & Down at 10:30/9:30c, both on HBO.

But this is where the fun starts for the Powells, as they soon discover that something’s not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct superpowers. Tonight is the series premiere of Law & Order: Los Angeles on NBC at 10/9c. The newest addition to the Law & Order brand, “Law & Order: Los Angeles” fuses classic ripped-from-the-headlines storytelling with the distinctive backdrop of LA – delving into the unique attitudes, cultures and crimes of the West Coast. The drama follows Detectives Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich, Jericho) and Tomas “TJ” Jarusalski (Corey Stoll) as they pursue cases through the diverse City of Angels. As members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite Robbery Homicide Division, Winters is a straight-shooting ex-Marine with a clear-cut worldview as stubborn as he is, while TJ, who grew up the son of an Oscar-winning Polish cinematographer, knows too well the dark underside that is behind-the-scenes Hollywood. Deputy District Attorney Morales (Alfred Molina) is a sarcastic realist who believes moral righteousness is great in theory, but ineffective in a street fight. Though he knows how to manipulate both his public image and the behind-the-scenes politics, he’s still a killer in the courtroom who lives to see justice served.
