If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/28/10

Tuesday night has suddenly turned into one of the must see TV nights of the week. The amazingly action-packed new series No Ordinary Family takes flight tonight, and who knows, this could be the show that brings your entire clan together in front of the TV. Read below to check out what else we recommend as must see TV tonight!

Lisa’s Choice

You drive me crazy! Sure, these are Britney Spears lyrics, but no doubt after tonight’s Glee episode you’re going to be going nuts! The long awaited Britney Spears centered episode is finally here! The episode is entitled “Britney/Brittany” and it revolves around the Glee gang talking Mr. Schuester into letting them all take on a Britney Spears song (sorry, no spoiler songs here, just know this is one jam-packed Spears filled episode). Meanwhile, Will becomes very curious about Emma’s new suitor, dentist Dr. Carl Howell (guest star John Stamos). You may not be a fan of Britney Spears, but you will definitely be a fan of Glee by the end of this episode! Make sure you’re watching FOX tonight at 8/7c.

Jump ahead and check out Megan’s and Jenny’s choices.

Megan’s Choice

If you haven’t watched NCIS: Los Angeles you have been missing out! There is fabulous chemistry between LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, in a show that brings a mix between drama, comedy and suspense.

Last week’s season premiere was intense, and I loved how it all turned out in the end. This week Deeks and Kensi partner on a mission to find three marines who disappeared after their Humvee was ambushed in the desert. I promise you a great television experience if you would just tune into CBS at 9/8c to see the new episode of NCIS: LA.

Jenny’s Choice

As Lisa mentioned at the top, No Ordinary Family premieres tonight on ABC at 8/7c. I have seen the pilot (although it’s been added to since I saw it and is apparently even better now than it was), and I loved it. It is by far one of my favorite new shows this season. It stars Michael Chiklis (The Shield) as Jim, the father of the family, Julie Benz (Dexter) as Stephanie, the mother, and Jimmy Bennett & Kay Panabaker as their children. It also stars Autumn Reeser (The OC) as Katie, who works with Stephanie, and Romany Malco as George, who is best friends with Jim.

The Powells are about to go from ordinary to extraordinary. After 16 years of marriage, Jim and Stephanie’s relationship lacks the spark it once had, and their family life now consists of balancing work and their two children, leaving little time for family bonding. During a family vacation set up by Jim in an attempt to reconnect, their plane crashes into the Amazon River. But this is where the fun starts for the Powells, as they soon discover that something’s not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct superpowers. But saving and savoring their family life will be equally important, as they try to find purpose for their new powers and embark on a journey to find out what defines and unifies them. The Powells are a totally relatable family who happen to be a little bit amazing.

It may sound a little hokey or silly, but really, it’s extremely well done and very entertaining. I guarantee, this will be one you will be glad you watched! No Ordinary Family premieres tonight on ABC at 8/7c, so don’t miss it!

Can’t wait for Glee, Lisa!!! Not too sure about NCIS:LA, Megan, but I’ll try to watch again since you recommended it so highly! And Jenny, really?! No Ordinary Family is THAT good?! I’ll save a spot on my DVR for it and see

  2. Megan says:

I am a huge Gleek! (Lisa beat me to it this week ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) However Lindsay, I really do enjoy NCIS: LA, more than the original NCIS actually. The mysteries move quicker and are better. The cast has great chemistry and you just have to watch to love it. I also like No Ordinary Family, and it might actually be the new family show of the season! Whatever everyone watches enjoy!

  3. Jenny says:

NOF is really that good, yes. I’m hoping everyone loves it as much as I did! I’m excited to sit down and watch it tonight with my husband and 12 year old son, neither of whom have seen it yet. ๐Ÿ˜€ By the way, I’m with Megan, in that I’m kind of enjoying NCIS: LA more than the original, which is saying a lot! I am loving Mondays & Tuesdays this season so far. Woohoo! lol

  4. Lisa says:

Yes, I did beat Megan this time around to Glee! I’m a huge Gleek too and I couldn’t pass up staking my claim on the Britney Spears episode. I’m really looking forward to hashing out the whole episode after it airs with everyone! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I haven’t seen No Ordinary Family yet, but I’m hearing too that it’s the family show to watch. My vote though is that FOX has the dominating force for Tuesday nights with Raising Hope and Running Wilde which are also terrific.
