No real intro today, but our post does come with a warning. If you are sensitive about certain topics, or have children in the room, don’t read my (Jenny’s) part of the post, and avoid the new episode of Private Practice tonight. For everyone else, read on!
If you missed the last minute of last week’s Private Practice, you missed a huge turn of events. Charlotte King was leaving her office at the hospital, and a man grabbed her, hit her, and then dragged her back into an empty room (I wasn’t clear on whether or not it was her office or some other room). This week’s episode continues with that storyline, as Charlotte has been raped and beaten horribly badly. Kadee Strickland is going to knock it out of the park as Charlotte, and everyone’s favorite Buffy sidekick Xander, Nicholas Brendan (who plays the gag-worthy Kevin Lynch on Criminal Minds) is guest starring as the rapist. I believe he will be on one other episode, as well, but whether that is next week or not, I don’t know for sure.

On tonight’s episode, Pete finds Charlotte after she’s been attacked, but she only admits to Addison that she was raped, too. If you are a Charlotte & Cooper fan, you might be worried this will push them apart, like the horrific act of rape does to many real life couples. From everything I’ve read, Charlotte does try to push him away, but Cooper refuses to budge, and in the end (not the end of this episode, mind you!), it serves to bring them closer together.
This will be a truly moving episode of Private Practice, but certainly not one for the faint of heart. It will pull their little family back together, after so many things (not adopting Betsy, Addison & Sam becoming a couple, etc etc) have been working against them. Don’t miss it tonight on ABC at 10/9c.
Thursdays are always such a great night for television, especially this season of Grey’s Anatomy. I have been loving all the story lines except I’m a little concerned where this current arc is taking Arizona and Callie and will we be seeing a lot less of them if they are in Africa?
On tonight’s episode, Owen puts the residents through a tough trauma-certification drill, pushing them to their limits. Cristina faces a test when she’s put in charge of monitoring a critically ill lung-transplant patient. Tune in to ABC at 9/8c and fall in love with Grey’s Anatomy if you haven’t already.
There is lots of great TV to choose from on Thursdays; almost too much really. Grey’s Anatomy is having a great season, dealing with the aftermath of the spree shooting that ended last season, and Fringe, which is back tonight, has gotten really good too. But, shockingly as it may sound coming from me, The Vampire Diaries has become my top choice on the night.
While the actors are all doing fine work, most notably Nina Dobrev playing four different parts (Elena, present day Katherine, past Katherine & Katherine being Elena), unlike some of my previous recommendations, that isn’t why I watch. Why do I and why do I think you should be too?
Well, there are two reasons. The first is pacing, as the show blows through more story in one episode than most shows do in five. It’s never boring. The second, and the main reason I watch, is because the vast majority of the time you have no idea what is going to happen next. There are very few shows on TV that I can say that about. This show is all about the writers and the twists and turns they put you through each week.
Tonight, Elena has been abducted and while Damon and Stefan are helping her, they learn some surprising information about vampires. Jeremy tries to assist Bonnie after she casts a difficult spell. And, Caroline is trying to help Tyler. Watch The Vampire Diaries tonight on The CW at 8/7c.
Outsourced has definitely been underrated by critics, and it’s time it gets its props. A unique show set at a call center in India, viewers get to see what happens on the other end of those calls we get from half way across the world. Todd and Manmeet team up in tonights episode in order to devise a plan to fix Todd up as a potential suitor for Asha. Rajiv tries to help Gupta with something else, getting over a bad habit!
Catch this hilarious and diverse show on NBC tonight at 9:30/8:30c.
