If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/14/10

Welcome to the beginning of a new week! This week on the Remote posts, we have Mark, from TVOvermind as our guest poster! He is a big tweeter (check him out at @TheAntiCritic), which is how I met him. Everyone welcome him to TV Is My Pacifier!

Mark’s Choice

Hello all! My name is Mark O. Estes, aka @TheAntiCritic), and I hail from TVOvermind.com, which is operated by the great Jon Lachonis (aka Doc Arzt). TV is my life. It is my bread and butter. It is my breath. It is my blood. When my favorite shows get cancelled or end, a part of me dies inside. It is that serious. So it gives me much pleasure to take over your remote for the week by guiding you to what I think are the best bets out of this surprisingly slaughterhouse of a TV season.

Sunday, Bloody, Sunday is what I call my TV Sunday nights, dear readers. My DVR goes into hyper drive trying to record Luther, Desperate Housewives, The Walking Dead, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Boardwalk Empire. See how sporadic and psychotic my TV taste range? Bananas, right? Anyway, I have to take over your remote and give you one show that I feel will be worth your time. And that show is… (drum roll, please?)

The Walking Dead

Jump with us to see why I chose The Walking Dead and to see what everyone else recommends!

I picked this selection for two reasons: #1 I would’ve picked Luther, but I am in the process of catching up and don’t want to spoil myself on what’s to come and #2 The Walking Dead is simply one of the best shows on TV now, hands down.

Tonight’s episode will feature our hero Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he finally meets up with his wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and son Carl (Chandler Riggs) as well as the rest of the survivor camp, including his police partner Shane (Joe Bernthenal), who has secretly been sleeping with Lori. Uh oh… Meanwhile, Rick has to make a trip back to Atlanta to rescue Dixon (Michael Hooker), the racist who was tied to a pipe on top of a building after causing trouble with the group. With so much conflict going on within the survivors, I’m pretty sure that at times, the zombies will be the least of these peoples’ problems.

That’s my pick for tonight! Hope you enjoy! The Walking Dead airs tonight on AMC @10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Walking Dead @ Clicker.

Jenny’s Choice

Lots of great TV on tonight, but my pick is Desperate Housewives. The show has been great this season, what with the return of Paul Young, the mystery surrounding his new wife (the shocker last week, that she is the daughter of Felicia Tilman, wasn’t really a shocker for me, as I’d already guessed, but it was still a OMG moment. lol), the new characters of Keith and Renee, the switched at birth storyline for Gabrielle and Carlos… It’s all just coming together to make a highly entertaining season. Is it brain food? Nah, not really. But that’s okay. Most of the stuff I watch isn’t! 😉

On tonight’s episode, Gabrielle and Carlos host Carmen, Hector, and Grace to a bountiful feast for Thanksgiving; Bree invites Keith’s parents over and learns family secrets; Susan butts heads with Lynette; Renee reminds Tom of their past; Beth uncovers more.

Don’t miss tonight’s new episode of Desperate Housewives on ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Desperate Housewives @ Clicker.

Megan’s Choice

I know that there are a lot of great shows on Sunday. Believe me, my DVR knows it, too. 😉 However, I’m going to go with a show that I’ve been watching since the beginning, CSI: Miami. I’m hearing groans from the peanut gallery and that’s okay. Don’t think for a second I don’t know that the show can be cheesy at times, and that a lot of people think that crime shows are over done; especially the CSI franchise. All that aside, I have found this season of CSI:Miami to be stronger than the last few, like it’s finally found it’s footing again. I am loving the story arc about the escaped convicts and how they are seeking revenge on the team for putting them away.

On tonight’s episode, “Blood Sugar”, the CSIs are called into investigate when a sugar refinery explodes. The probe uncovers a surprising secret about one of the factory’s employees. So get your sunglasses and one liners ready and tune into CBS at 10/9c to see the case unfold. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: Miami @ Clicker.
