If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/17/11

It’s Thursday, which means we’re nearing the end of another week. There’s still lots on, though, so you don’t have to worry about missing out! What do we think you should watch? Read on to find out!

Jenny’s Choice

My pick tonight is one I haven’t actually felt good about recommending in months, and that is Bones. I was a Hannah hater, I’ll admit. Well, not true, exactly. I was a Hannah with Booth hater. I liked the character a lot… I just didn’t like that she was with Booth and what that meant for Booth & Bones. But as we saw last week, Hannah is gone. Booth asked her to marry him (did anyone else feel that Booth asked her for 2 reasons only: 1) cause he felt a bit pressured about Sweets, this guy who is much younger than him, thinking of proposing to Daisy, and 2) in the hopes that getting engaged to Hannah would help put his feelings for Bones to rest completely? That was my take on it, anyway. So yes, I’m happy Hannah is gone, and while I don’t expect B/B to get together right away, I finally feel like we can get back on track for that.

On tonight’s Valentine’s Day-themed episode, the liquified remains of a wedding planner are found in her tanning bed on Valentine’s Day. Cam is in a hurry to solve the case, since she has plans with her boyfriend. Classified files lead to a main suspect in the case. Booth and Bones downplay the holiday, while Hodgins tries to make plans of his own. Peter Paige (Queer as Folk) guest stars.

Don’t miss the new episode tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

Jose’s Choice

Thursday night offers us a variety of good viewing options on the main networks, but I’m going to suggest a show thats a little bit out there for my pick. Part James Bond, part Mad Men, and all around hilarious; Archer is the ideal show for adults who want to have a good laugh while watching a cartoon show. The show follows Sterling Archer and the rest of the team at ISIS, a secret spy organization, as they stumble and bumble their way through different cases and operations. The show’s comedy kind of goes all over the place, though it’s meant for more mature audiences. The show’s dialogue is full of pop culture references and keeps the show moving along, but the real treat is the voice talent on the show (for example, some of the characters are voiced by Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, and Jessica Walters).

Thursday’s episode, “Pipeline Fever”, has ISIS lead agents and ex-lovers Archer and Lana traveling to the Louisiana bayou to stop an eco-terrorist from attacking a gas pipeline. While Lana is all business, Archer sees this as an opportunity to live out his Burt Reynolds fantasy. Back at the home office, ISIS Director Malory (also Archer’s mom) tries to make the ISIS offices a green workplace, with interesting results.

Archer is on tonight at 10/9c on FX. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it!

Megan’s Choice

We all love a good drama, but I really love a good medical drama, and in my opinion, there isn’t a better one than Grey’s Anatomy on the air right now. This season has been amazing so far. There’s been a beautiful balance between love, humour, and straight out medical drama, which keeps us all coming back for more.

On tonight’s episode, Meredith gets to run the ER for a night, and it’s quite a learning experience. She and everyone else are also suprised when Adele Webber (Loretta Divine) shows up as a patient.

Meanwhile, Bailey and Eli (Daniel Sunjata) sneak off for some mischief.

Tune into ABC at 9/8c to see how Meredith handles all the stress.

Lisa’s Choice

30 Rock has consistently been right on the money this season with tons of laughs and quirky moments that only a fan of this off beat show could love! Tina Fey and her team deliver week after week with outrageous storylines full of quirky characters that never get old. There is almost nothing that is off limits when it comes to this out of bounds show!

Tonight, Pete and Frank start a band, and Jenna tries to prove to Liz that love still exists. Jack runs into trouble negotiating his nanny’s salary.

Watch an all new episode on NBC tonight at 10/9c.
