I always look forward to Friday, not just because it means the weekend is coming, but it’s the day Fringe is on. Now in its third season, Fringe tells the story of a special team that focuses on crazy, bizarre events that can only be explained through the study of Fringe sciences. This season, the Fringe team faces their biggest challenge as they race to stop a Fringe team from an alternate universe from destroying our universe. While the writing on the show is top notch, the acting is what makes it a must watch for me. Anna Torv is incredible as the lead of the Fringe team, Agent Olivia Dunham, while John Noble plays the eccentric, brilliant Dr. Walter Bishop. It’s even more amazing when you realize they also play their alternate universe alter-egos, showing an amazing range and quality in their performances.
Tonight, in an episode titled “6B”, the Fringe team investigates a series of odd events that leads them to the apartment of a widow. At the same time, Olivia and Peter try to repair their friendship after some interference from agents from the alternate universe.

If I had to make a list of great shows you aren’t watching, The Defenders would be at the top of the list. I love it for so many reasons. It’s not your typical law show, first of all. If you think of the law shows we have seen in the last handful of years, you can put it somewhere between the Law & Order trilogy and Boston Legal in terms of seriousness/goofiness ratio. There are plenty of more serious or heartfelt moments, with lots of comedic, funny, and off the wall moments mixed in. Unlike Boston Legal (which I enjoyed, too, but still!), the lighter moments aren’t as…stupidly funny. No one can beat Alan Shore and Denny Crane for that. The Defenders is really the perfect mix of drama and comedy, and is just plain enjoyable to watch.
On tonight’s episode, an overconfident judge faces a staggering 30 counts of possession of a controlled substance and turns to Nick for help. Nick reluctantly has no choice in the matter but to help acquit the man of the charges put against him. Dan Akyroyd guest stars as the naughty judge needing Nick’s help.

Police procedurals don’t come like this! There is action, suspense, and a whole lot of drama all mixed together for one intense first class show. The cast has amazing chemistry together, and there is never a dull moment. Anyone who watches is guaranteed that their eyes will not turn away from the screen, they will be THAT sucked into this show. Give Blue Bloods a shot, and you will wonder why you let yourself miss out on such a phenomenal show.
Tonight, when an assassination attempt is made on Frank’s life, Danny decides to go on a hunt to track down the shooter and find out if the attack was random, or if it was by someone who has a vendetta against the Commissioner.

Can’t believe it’s Friday already, which means I’m one week closer to having this baby! 😀 The sooner little Pherson comes out, the sooner I’ll get back into a schedule. Well, I suppose as much of a schedule as one with a newborn and a 5 year old can get into. 😉 Television this week has been really good, and tonight is no exception. I think you should be watching an all new CSI: NY. I know it’s not really original, but there’s something comforting about an old favorite.
On tonight’s episode, the body of a rapist is found dead in a warehouse, and the CSIs must determine if any of his victims is responsible for the murder.
