If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/3/11

It’s Thursday, and while my baby boy is still baking, at least I have some great television to distract me in the meantime. Let’s see what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

I knew when I visited the set of Fairly Legal this past summer that they had found something special with this show. Now that it’s a few episodes in, I’m positive. The cast is fabulous, and they all work well together.

On tonight’s episode, a big client of Reed & Reed’s asks Kate to mediate a simple financial matter — which quickly morphs into a case of identity theft, before escalating to an immigration issue, where Kate must defend a brave soldier against a rigid Homeland Security prosecutor. Peter MacNicol (Numb3rs, Grey’s Anatomy, Ally McBeal) guest stars.

Jenny’s Choice

There are a good handful of comedies that I like a lot, and as unpopular with some people that it might be, Rules of Engagement is one of my favorites to watch. I love Jeff’s deadpan delivery and dry sense of humor and Audrey’s perfect way of dealing with him, Adam’s stupidity and Jen’s ability to ignore it sometimes and just make fun of it others, & Russell’s manwhorish ways and Timmy’s exasperation with him. The addition of guest star Sara Rue on occasion as Jeff & Audrey’s surrogate has been fantastic, too.

On tonight’s episode, Jeff and Audrey see a fertility specialist with their surrogate (Rue) and discover a zygote; Russell and Timmy decide to go on double dates one more time.

Lisa’s Choice

This isn’t your cookie cutter legal drama, and Kate Reed isn’t your ordinary mediator. Kate goes outside of the box in order to make her legal decisions, and she does them in a loud and boisterous way! She thinks on her feet and acts with both her mind and her heart, something that is a rarity in characters as well as in real life nowadays. If you’re not tuning in to Fairly Legal, you’re committing an injustice!

Tonight, a simple financial matter escalates into identity theft and an immigration issue.
