If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/14/11

My kid had his first karate tournament yesterday. He and my hubby were gone for about 7 hours. LONG day. He is still new, and it showed, but even though his … well, equipment, didn’t fit well (the straps were too small) and hurt very badly, he powered through and finished, doing the best he could. I am one proud mama!

One show that is worth everyone’s attention is Chuck on NBC. It’s almost always a bubble show when it comes to renewal, which is a shame, as it is absolutely fabulous. Zachary Levi plays the geek turned spy perfectly, and the rest of the cast is so amazing, it’s actually hard for me to put into words. I simply adore Adam Baldwin (who starred in Firefly with another of my favorites, Nathan Fillion, from Castle), and Joshua Gomez, who plays Chuck’s best friend, is brilliant as one of the most inept, but somehow amazingly lucky members of Team Bartowski. All in all, it really is a fantastic cast and show.

On tonight’s episode, Chuck and Sarah begin an investigation when they suspect Casey is carrying out private missions. Chuck fears the new, seemingly-perfect operatives (guest stars Isaiah Mustafa and Stacy Keibler) have rendered him obsolete. Morgan settles in with a new roomate, and Awesome panics over Ellie’s line of research.

Harry’s Law has brought us some interesting legal stories so far. We’ve seen Harry almost disbarred because she told the jury her client was guilty. She has fought for the rights of a gang member to have a liver transplant, and many more moments that make you smile. The show is full of legal questions, scattered with awesome sarcasm and emotional battles. It’s definitely worth a watch. If you haven’t watched yet, you should.

On tonight’s episode, when a war veteran locks his wife in their basement to keep her from cheating, her lover Miguel (Guillermo Diaz, Weeds), approaches Harry to help — but asks that she not involve the police due to their immigrant status. Meanwhile, Adam takes on his first divorce case, where he represents Lynette Zales (Ann Cusack, Private Practice) after a romantic affair she orchestrated for her husband to spice up their marriage develops into something more. Elsewhere, Jenna and Malcolm confront each other about their kiss.

Time is running out on these Liars, and the walls seem to be closing in at every turn! Next week is the season finale for Pretty Little Liars, and after one season of this show down, we can only fathom what juicy tortures await these ladies in season two. For now, season one is guaranteed to go out with a loud bang!

Tonight, everyone has something to hide, whether it be a secret romance, who they really are, or their true intentions. For Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily, keeping things secret is now second nature, but having to live with those secrets can be an intense burden. How long can Aria keep up the charade of hiding her relationship with Ezra? Is the bond happening with Spencer and Toby a true friendship if they can’t be seen together? How open and honest can Emily be, when she can’t be truthful about the person she wants to be with? How can Hanna move on when she secretly still has feelings, and wants to be with, the guy who broke her heart? With “A” watching the girls every move, these four Liars may not have to worry about keeping their feelings hidden for much longer. Meanwhile, Rosewood police officer, Garrett Reynolds, keeps his promise to keep a watchful eye on the girls – closer than they realize. When dealing with relationships and feelings, some secrets are best kept hidden.
