If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/10/11

Well, overall, it’s a much slower night tonight on TV, considering that there are no premieres or finales, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing on. In fact, we all have so much to recommend, I am doing three shows myself. *laugh* Since it’s nearing 3am when I write this, let’s get to it so I can go to bed!

Jenny’s Choice #1

My first pick tonight is a huge episode of NCIS on CBS. The promos look amazing for it, and I’ve been looking forward to it for awhile now. It looks dramatic, and according to the promos, not everyone will survive. They won’t kill off any of the team, will they? I just don’t know. 🙁 I mean, the show has been around for a LONG time now (we’re at the end of season 8!), so does CBS feel like they need to really shake things up? Again, I just don’t know. We’ll see tonight, I guess!

On tonight’s episode, after new evidence reveals that the Port-to-Port killer has infiltrated the agency, the NCIS teams chase every lead in a race to track him down. Sarah Jane Morris returns as Special Agent E.J. Barrett, Muse Watson reprises his role as Mike Franks, David Dayan Fisher reprises his role as Trent Kort, and Kerr Smith (*love him*) guest stars as Navy Lieutenant Jonas Cobb.

It’s prom time, Gleeks! Grab a date, put your fanciest duds on, and park yourself in front of the couch, because the Glee cast is putting on one hell of a prom night! New Directions is hitting the stage tonight to shake up the McKinley prom. Don’t forget to cast your vote for King and Queen, because the evening wouldn’t be complete without crowns and one last dance together!

When the entertainment falls through at the McKinley Prom, to Sue’s dismay, Principal Figgins asks New Directions to perform. Not only do things get heated as the competition for Prom King and Prom Queen draws closer and closer, but Jessie St. James (guest star Jonathan Groff) shows up unannounced, to throw Rachel into a tizzy.

Tune in at 8/7c on FOX for an all new Glee, and bring your dancing shoes! Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.

I suggest you watch the prom episode of Glee tonight, because it’s going to change the course of the show; however, my actual suggestion for tonight is NCIS: Los Angeles. This spin-off has become my favorite, even over the original (Sorry, Gibbs and Abby!). The cases on the original are great. The cases on NCIS: LA are interesting, but also, it’s the hilarious interaction of the cast that makes it so wonderful. I love Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J’s chemistry together, and it doesn’t hurt that they are both so easy on the eyes. 😉

On tonight’s episode, after a Navy SEAL imposter is set ablaze, NCIS receives new information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen brachytherapy canister from a previous investigation that could potentially be used to manufacture a deadly bomb. Also, the team receives shocking news about Hetty.

Tune in to CBS at 9/8c to see how our sexy team solves this case. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

My second recommendation tonight is Raising Hope. This show makes me laugh and giggle every week, and I can’t recommend it any more highly than I do. The cast is simply phenominally funny, and they just rock it every time. Most of the group is experienced, with great careers behind them already. But even newcomers, Lucas Neff (Jimmy Chance) and Shannon Marie Woodward (Sabrina), flow seamlessly with their more experienced counterparts. If you aren’t watching this show, SHAME ON YOU. If you are, be sure and let Creator/Exec Producer Greg Garcia know via Twitter, and tell him @tvismypacifier sent you. 😉 He can be reached on Twitter at @WhoisGregGarcia.

On tonight’s episode, when Hope’s baby monitor picks up their neighbors’ conversations, Burt and Virginia go out of their way to meet the troubled couple (guest stars Jaime Pressly and Ethan Suplee, both from My Name is Earl, which is Greg Garcia’s previous show!) and try to help their marriage. Meanwhile, Howdy’s Market has the entire community, including baby Hope and Maw Maw, involved in a commercial competition with a rival store. You’ll be sorry if you miss it, because Maw Maw, Sabrina, & Shelley all dress up in fantastic outfits for the competition!

Jamie’s Choice

I know what you’re thinking. “Why should I care about a fishing show?” Well, first, this isn’t a fishing show…it’s a crabbing show. Secondly, it’s not your average seafood-centered show. There is drama, laughter, fear, happiness and much to the tobacco companies’ pleasure, lots of smoking. Seriously, Deadliest Catch is one of the best reality programs on television. Not only do you get an eye on what it takes to bring that delicious seafood to your table, but you get to find out what it is like to put your life on the line to put food on the table for your family.

Tonight is an especially tense episode of Deadliest Catch. What viewers often don’t realize is that the crew gets just a short amount of sleep before it is time to be on deck and helping to collect the pots of crab. The more crab a ship collects, the more they can bring back to the harbor to sell. So, tonight is going to be especially gripping for viewers, when a deckhand falls asleep at the wheel, which sends the boat on a collision course towards other vessels.

Tune in to Discovery at 9/8c to see how the crew sails through tonight’s turbulence. Learn where to find episodes online of Deadliest Catch @ Clicker.

The Hellcats are on the prowl, as the cast and crew continue to showcase one hell of a first season! This high flying squad of stunting seductresses bring the drama solidly week after week, not to mention a lot of eye candy. Never a dull moment with these rebel rousers, this season of Hellcats has gone through pregnancies, cheating, and a whole lot of other scandals. And the season isn’t even over yet! Don’t miss a moment of this delicious drama, as Hellcats is ready to rock your Tuesday night.

Tonight, Lewis tries to win a car for his father by entering a dance contest with Katy, while Savannah tries to help her family through a major crisis. Also, Red’s ex-wife continues to stir up far too much trouble.

Sink your teeth into a new episode at 9/8c on the CW. Learn where to find episodes online of Hellcats @ Clicker.

I wasn’t going to pick a third show tonight, but I really wanted to recommend Body of Proof. I enjoy this show more and more every week, and so does my husband. Dana Delaney is great, and I love her chemistry with the rest of the cast. Her character’s relationship with her daughter is finally beginning to grow, and it’s fun watching that develop. The cases are interesting, too, and I love watching the group figure out what happened to the victim and why.

On tonight’s episode, the high-profile, hit-and-run death of a Philadelphia homicide detective hits close to home with Detective Samantha “Sam” Baker. As Megan and the team dig deeper to avenge the death of one of their own, Megan realizes how important the bond between a parent and daughter is and misses her own close relationship with her daughter. Meanwhile, Megan must go to her mother, Judge Joan Hunt, with whom she has a strained relationship, to ask for her help in the investigation.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Body of Proof @ Clicker.
