If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/19/11

I’m back! 😀 Hello my lovelies!!! It’s true what they say about needing a vacation from a vacation, because frankly, I’m tired out from all that visiting! To help me relax and unwind from the vacation, I’m going to kick back tonight and watch a few season finales and shows in general. Let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

What am I going to do on Thursday nights now that it’s the end of the TV season, and I won’t get any new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy until next season? It’s been a season full of ups and downs, happy and sad moments, but everything aside, I’m still looking forward to the finale tonight.

On tonight’s season finale, the truth about Meredith’s deceit in the clinical trial is brought to light, and it puts her career in jeopardy, while also causing consequences for others. Owen announces his choice for chief resident, and Cristina and Teddy have choices to make.

One of my favorite shows the last three seasons has been The Mentalist on CBS. Yes, I know a lot of people consider it a rip-off of Psych, but to me, they are completely different shows. For one, the USA show is much more of a comedy, while this one is more of a drama. Shawn Spencer has almost everyone convinced he’s a psychic, while everyone KNOWS Patrick Jane isn’t, yet they both use their highly trained skills to help the police. If you like cop dramas, though, The Mentalist is much more your speed. Yes, Psych is a cop show, but like I said, it’s much more of a comedy. So to me, there’s room for both. Why do you have to choose? Oh, wait, you don’t! That’s the beauty of television: you get the best of both worlds.

One recurring theme of The Mentalist has been Patrick Jane’s nemesis, Red John. The serial killer killed Jane’s wife and daughter at some point before the actual start of the show, so he’s been chasing the man for years. On tonight’s season finale, that comes to a head. Red John’s CBI mole is finally snuffed out, and Patrick Jane finally gets the chance to come face-to-face with the infamous serial killer in an explosive confrontation that leads to some shocking repercussions in the end.

Don’t miss the 2-hour finale tonight on CBS at an earlier than normal time of 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Mentalist @ Clicker.

What a season this has been for The Big Bang Theory! New characters have been added, and all new hilarious storylines have tickled our funny bones. When everything clicks, it’s nothing but comedy gold, and this show is all solid! As we creep closer to tonight’s season finale, viewers are anxious to see what this dynamic bunch of buds have up their sleeves. Leonard and Priya are reaching new levels in their relationship, and maybe even one of these days, she’ll actually tell her parents about their relationship. Bernadette, Amy, and Penny have formed a great friendship and bond that’s full of gaffs and guffaws that keep the viewers delighted. Plus, befuddled Sheldon has never been at this high a level of bonkers. It’s altogether making for a fabulous half hour of full blown belly laughs.

Tonight, Bernadette gets her PhD, which inspires the guys to tease Wolowitz about his lack of a doctorate. Raj makes a big decision and steps up and becomes Sheldon’s roommate.

Shonda Rimes’ gripping drama Private Practice continues to excel this season. All of the doctors at Oceanside Wellness continue to have such powerful storylines, and the actors continue to offer such compelling performances. With tonight being the season finale, viewers are bound to be in store for Rimes at her best.

On tonight’s season finale episode, the doctors at Oceanside Wellness are faced with a tough decision regarding their beloved clinic. The doctors must identify the areas of the practice which they believe to be vulnerable. This happens to jeopardize the positions that some of their partners hold. It may even mean the dissolution of the practice, with each doctor going their separate ways. During this transitory time, Addison (Kate Walsh) finds she has a new admirer in town that offers up a tempting proposition. Benjamin Bratt guest stars. [Note from Jenny: YUM.]

It’s Thursday, and we’re nearing the end of the TV season, so there are a lot of good shows on tonight. My recommendation is to tune in to Parks and Recreation on NBC for one final taste of Pawnee, Indiana for this season. It took me some time to warm up to Parks and Rec, but when they added Rob Lowe and Adam Scott last season, I was hooked. Add to that the excellence that is Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson, and it’s become one of my new favorites.

In tonight’s first episode, “The Bubble,” Chris (Rob Lowe) announces big changes for the Parks and Recreation department, and no one is happy about it. The second episode, “Lil’ Sebastian” (named after the town’s famous miniature horse), has Tom (Aziz Ansari) making a big decision, and Leslie (Amy Poehler) finds out her new beau has a meeting with her mom.

See the two new episodes, including the season finale, of Parks and Recreation tonight on NBC at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Parks and Recreation @ Clicker.

I love watching Emily Deschanel asBones. It makes my Thursday night to see her and watch her deal with the relationship between her and Booth, which I hope actually becomes more than just friends soon! When you take the need for me to see Booth and Bones together out of the equation, there’s still the great cases and Angela having a baby to make me tune in!

On tonight’s finale, a bowler’s remains are found in an automatic pinsetter. Brennan and Booth go undercover, with him filling an injured Max’s slot on the victim’s team, to look for clues and suspects. Meanwhile, a pregnant Angela works via webcam from the hospital.

Tune in to FOX at 8/7c to see how our team does and if baby Hodgela makes his/her appearance. Learn where to find episodes online of Bones @ Clicker.

A power hour of The Office is on tonight, and I don’t know about you, but I am super stoked about all of star studded fanfair it is bringing! All eyes are on the major prize, and that’s the coveted position as manager at the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin! Which person will stand out above the rest and fill the oh so outrageous shoes of former manager Michael Scott? Candidates will come from near and far, and even in house! It’s going to be the pick of the litter and one hell of a fight to the finish!

Tonight, Jim heads up the team that interviews all of the potential manager applicants, including a few of his own coworkers! Also, Dwight tries to reassert himself as a contender! Jim Carey, Will Arnett, Ricky Gervais, Catherine Tate, James Spader, Ray Romano, and Kathy Bates guest star!

Bravo has successfully gone forth and multiplied their Real Housewives series. The ladies of New York seem to stand out from those of Orange County, Beverly Hills, and New Jersey, as there is a greater societal hierarchy to their friendships. When you watch the show, you never know if Countess LuAnn will be giving you lessons on being a proper lady, if Kelly Bensimon will be spouting gibberish, if Simon Van Kampen and Alex McCord will be pretending to mix with society’s best, or if Ramona will be waxing about wine. But then again, that’s why people tune in. I believe Forrest Gump’s famous catchphrase sums up this show the best… “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gunna’ get.”

Tonight’s The Real Housewives of New York City features a little bit of everything for regular viewers. LuAnn (Delacepes) decides to take the ladies on an exotic adventure, and Cindy (Barshop) goes on a spa retreat. Hard to believe Cindy needs a spa trip, when she is the owner of a full treatment wax/spa. Kelly (Bensimon) reveals something shocking, which leaves the ladies stunned. Jill (Zarin) hosts an Anti-Bullying charity event. This is ironic, since most of the housewives have been guilty of this at one point or another. On a nosy note, LuAnn gets herself involved in the ongoing Ramona (Singer) and Jill battle, and Ramona isn’t too pleased with LuAnn for butting in.

I’m not surprised that Jill would host an anti bullying charity thing. She gets bullied by everyone. Not just on the show but all over the internet as well. At least she’s trying to help others!
