If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/31/11

Zzzzzzz… Good gravy, this week is almost so boring, it’s putting me to sleep. Seriously! It’s almost like a huge culture shock going from 15+ shows a night to record/watch, down to … well, tonight, I have 3, but other nights this week? 0 or 1… It’s crazy. Luckily, the summer season gets in full swing starting next week (with an early nod tomorrow to the new Franklin & Bash on TNT), so the ho hum slow schedule won’t last long! As for tonight, check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

One of my family’s favorite things to do together is sit down and watch TV as a family. My 13 year old spends more time outside with friends than he does with us (he left at 7:00 this morning for a 15 day trip with his best friend & his friend’s grandparents, for goodness sakes!). So when he decides he wants to spend time with us watching television and playing card or board games, we certainly don’t argue! One of our favorite shows to watch together during the summer premieres tonight.

America’s Got Talent is always fun to watch, because it’s not just your run of the mill singing or dancing competition. There are all sorts of fun, crazy, and interesting people willing to show off their talents (or lack thereof!), such as magicians, contortionists, ventriloquists, and jugglers, in addition to some amazing acrobats, singers, and dancers. Tonight kicks off the 6th season, hosted by Nick Cannon, and judged by Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan, and Howie Mandel.

Don’t miss the 2-hour premiere tonight on NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of America’s Got Talent @ Clicker.

If you loved this season of the new show, Traffic Light, then you’re not going to want to miss a moment of tonight’s series finale! If you haven’t caught this charming show and don’t know what it’s about, you can still tune in and not miss a beat of the funny. These three male friends all live such different lives, but when they come together, it’s a riot! Mike, Adam, and Ethan have all been friends since college, and they continue to see one another through all the highs and lows of their lives.

They are all in their thirties now and are in different stages in life. Mike is a married lawyer, who loves being a family man, but still longs for some alone time. Adam recently moved in with his girlfriend and is learning about how to juggle life with a female roommate. Ethan is a perpetual bachelor, who enjoys the company of women–only when he wants it, though. He’s a serial dater, who does relationships for three weeks and then bows out. The only thing that is stable in his life is his job as an EMT and his beloved bulldog.

Tonight, Mike and his wife Lisa (Liza Lapira) hire a babysitter, while a delivery man interrupts Callie’s (Aya Cash) naked dance party. Adam and Mike try to persuade Ethan to get rid of his necklace.

While American Idol may have wrapped up its season, we still have the amazing talent on The Voice to entertain us at night. I admit at first I was skeptical as to whether or not I’d actually like this show, but after the first episode, I was hooked. The coaches are so much fun to watch, and I especially enjoy looking at Blake Shelton (YUM! 😉 ).

On tonight’s episode, we see our 4th battle round, the last before we go to live shows. I’m hoping the last battles are as great as the others have been, and I can’t wait for the live shows, where America decides who goes home, not the coaches.

Tune in to NBC at 10/9c to see what happens. Learn where to find episodes online of The Voice @ Clicker.
