Welcome to a new, exciting week of TV! There is a lot of great stuff on, so we have a new guest poster with us. Everyone welcome Kyle, from NoReruns.net! He’s fun to follow on Twitter, which is where I met him. Now, check out what Kyle and the rest of us think you should be watching! – Jenny
Hi, my name is Kyle, and I watch way too much TV! As a kid, before there was such a thing as a summer season, I would anxiously await the Fall Preview TV Guide and network fall preview specials. Then I would strategically map out the VCRs around the house so I wouldn’t miss any of the new or returning shows. Not much has changed, except now I use TiVos to help me attack this usually overwhelming, year-round mass of new TV! It’s going to be very tough to limit myself to only choosing one show a night—especially with all the premieres and finales tonight and Thursday! You can find me on Twitter at @Kyool or on my TV blog at NoReruns.net.
While I would love to see the Falling Skies premiere and to know who killed Rosie Larson on The Killing, my one pick for the night is the season finale of Game of Thrones. This show has been a great adventure and feels like a mini feature film each week. I still have a very difficult time remembering all of the characters’ names, but that has not detracted from the enjoyment. I have not read any of the books, and with last week’s shocking twist, I’m so glad that I haven’t. It is so much fun to watch this show without any knowledge of what’s going to happen!
Jump with us to read more about my pick and see what the ladies have to recommend.
This is one of the things I also like about the Spartacus series—no character is safe at any time, and this allows the show to be shocking and surprising week after week. It is great that HBO is remaining faithful to the original book and has done their advertising campaign in such a way as to not reveal any of the show’s shocking twists. I can’t wait for tonight’s finale to see how the events of last week play out and set us up for the next season.
In tonight’s first season finale, “Fire and Blood,” a new king rises in the North, and a Khaleesi finds new hope.
Don’t miss it tonight on HBO at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Game of Thrones @ Clicker.

This is the biggest premiere in a long time for my family and me. We’ve been looking forward to Falling Skies for months, ever since we first heard about it. When the first big promo came out, we all sat down together to watch the several minute long clip. My 13 year old is as excited as I am, and that’s saying something! The show opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival, as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force. The aliens in the series are mighty, mysterious and merciless. They are highly intelligent and use military-like tactics, which makes them an overwhelming force against the 2nd Mass. There are two types of aliens that the human survivors have named Skitters and Mechs. Combining live action and special visual effects, the Skitters have spider-like bodies and incredible strength and agility. The deadly, robotic Mechs stand upright and can shoot bullets from their arms. The aliens control captured children, like Tom’s son Ben, through bio-mechanical harnesses but have yet to reveal their ultimate plan for them.
The show stars Noah Wyle (ER), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Will Patton (Armageddon, Into the West), Drew Roy (Secretariat), Maxim Knight (Brothers & Sisters), Connor Jessup (The Saddle Club), Seychelle Gabriel (Weeds), Colin Cunningham (Living in Your Car), and Sarah Carter (Shark).
On tonight’s 2-hour series premiere, a history professor (Wyle) helps lead a resistance against an alien invasion that has already taken control over the majority of the planet, but the main focus of the professor’s goal in fighting the aliens is to find his captured son.

I’m so excited for the season premiere of Drop Dead Diva tonight on Lifetime. Last season, we were left with Grayson lying in the street, injured by being hit by a car, and Jane at his side. I’m really holding out hope that these two will find their way into a romantic relationship, but I’m guessing the writers are going to play with us for a while on this one. I love the fact that Drop Dead Diva makes a point of all woman being beautiful, no matter their shape or size. The show really stresses the importance of inner beauty, and it does so without being corny or preachy. If you haven’t watched this show yet, you should definitely start now!
On tonight’s season premiere, as Jane anxiously waits for Grayson to wake up from his coma, she is assigned a case where she has to clear a celebrity of leaving the scene of a hit and run accident involving a 13 year old girl. Kim takes on the case of a former client wanting to sue the husband for something that happened after the divorce. Lee Ann Rhimes guest stars on tonight’s episode.

I couldn’t go a week without recommending my favorite show on TV right now, The Glades. Last season, Callie and Jim finally grew closer and began a true romantic (sexual woohoo!) relationship. The morning after their first night together, Callie got a call that her husband was being released from prison for agreeing to cooperate with the D.A. and turn on other people the police are after. Callie had been planning to tell her husband she was filing for divorce, but he convinced her to give him three months, to show her and their son that he can be a better father and husband. Obviously that means Jim and Callie aren’t continuing their relationship right now, which makes me sad, but seeing Jeff with his dad last week was great. I still think Ray is going to slip up (if he hasn’t already–I mean, where did he get the money to pay her back so quickly?! And don’t tow truck drivers have to be bonded? Would Ray, a convicted felon–a thief, no less!–be given the proper authority to do that? Hmm. lol Anyway, Callie has now taken a job working with the FDLE as a Forensic Nurse, so she’ll be working very closely with Jim, which should be super fun to see. 😀
On tonight’s episode, Callie is met with animosity for her acceptance of the Forensic Nurse position. With the use of his strong interrogation techniques, Jim discovers the truth behind a Navy recruiter’s murder, and it becomes a race against time to catch the killer.

When we left off on the show last, Grayson had been hit by a car, and as he looked up at Jane, he called out to Deb. Also, Kim had left the firm, and Stacy and Fred finally got together. It was a season finale that left viewers itching for more (the best shows always do). Thankfully, the wait is over and fans of this funny and irreverent show can find out the fate of their favorite characters and what’s next for Jane.
Tonight’s season premiere has Jane getting assigned a new case that revolves around a movie star. Tim Klein (guest star Nick Zano) is accused of running over a young girl and then fleeing the scene. Jane’s fun loving sidekick best friend Stacy gets involved as Jane’s unpaid intern, because she has a vast knowledge on all things Tom related. Also, now that Kim has left the firm, she takes on a case of a former client (guest star Helen Slater) who wants to sue her ex-husband for a very unexpected reason. This leads to a showdown with Parker, who has taken on the case for the defense.

Lifetime is on a roll lately with their new shows, especially The Protector, which follows Gloria (Ally Walker), a divorced mom of two, as she works as an LAPD detective. Balancing work and motherhood may prove to be difficult, but if nothing else, it’s going to give us some great story lines to watch.
On tonight’s episode, Gloria and Michelle investigate the brutal murder of a controversial fashion titan and question whether this is an isolated incident. Meanwhile, Davey begins dating the babysitter, Nora, much to Gloria’s dismay.
Tune in to Lifetime tonight at 10/9c to give this new series a chance that it really deserves. Learn where to find episodes online of The Protector @ Clicker.
