If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/22/11

TGIF, right?! I don’t know about you, but this heat is killing me—and making the week seem that much longer! Our temps here in Kansas have been hovering right around a hundred degrees. I hope if it’s the same for you, you and your loved ones are cool enough indoors! Don’t forget to keep pets inside, too, because a small animal like a dog or cat will die from the heat faster than a human! Now that I’ve said my piece, let’s get to what we think you should be watching tonight. 🙂

I spent a few hours last weekend catching up on the last few episodes of Flashpoint, and I’m so glad I did. They were great! Now, the team is on probation, and that’s a scary thing for everyone. One condition is that Sam and Jules aren’t supposed to be together, so they still need to keep their relationship secret. While that’s fun and exciting, I’m sure that will get hard after a while. I almost thought Ed was going to leave, but at the end of the last season, his wife did a 180 and gave him permission—with a few conditions—to go back to work. That’s great for Ed. It’ll be nice if he isn’t so broody all the time because his home life is a wreck!

Tonight, Team One is on the trail of a notorious serial robber who likes to stream his robberies on the live internet for an audience, but they soon discover there is more to this sociopath man’s mission than what first appears.

Torchwood: Miracle Day continues to be a roller coaster of a ride—though it may have hit a few bumps last week. Last week’s scene of T2-meets-Death Becomes Her might have been just a little too over the top, even for Torchwood. However, in general, the characters and story have been really great and interesting, and with each episode, we seem to be getting great new recurring/guest stars. I’m still on board and ready/willing to put logic aside and just enjoy the campy-ness of the ride.

In tonight’s episode, “Dead of Night,” Torchwood goes on the run, and Jack must confront the mysterious Oswald Danes.

While I’ll be watching tonight’s episode of Haven at Comic-Con, you should definitely be watching it at home! This show is full of mystery, suspense, and humour, not to mention a stellar cast. If you haven’t tuned in yet, your Friday nights must be boring. Whether it’s the creepy troubles that are causing town members to go a little nutty, or the witty banter between Duke (Eric Balfour) and Audrey (Emily Rose), you’re going to enjoy it.

On tonight’s episode, Audrey grapples with her identity, while a terrifying epidemic runs rampant through Haven.
