If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/27/11

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had a root canal. *waits patiently* By the time most of you read this, I’ll have had my first one ever done. So not looking forward to it, but my tooth and jaw are starting to hurt, so I guess I’m ready for it to be done! Hopefully I won’t be in much pain. I’ve heard from most people that isn’t as bad as you’d think, and it’s a lot better now than it used to be, so… I should be ok. Luckily, there’s lots of great stuff on tonight to make me feel better! Let’s see what that is…

Last week on Royal Pains, we met Even and Hank’s grandfather, played by guest star Ed Asner. He’s a curmudginely old bastard, but I really enjoyed him, and I’m looking forward to seeing him back tonight so we can learn a little bit more about him and their family. We learned Eddie and his father are on the outs just as much—if not more—than Eddie and Hank were when Eddie came back into their lives. Also last week, Evan admitted to Hank that he was planning to propose to Paige. Hank tried to tell him to slow down, because he knows Paige is keeping some sort of major secret from Evan. Will Evan listen? Or will Paige finally come clean? I dunno, but I hope she does soon!

Tonight, on “A Man Called Grandpa,” in an attempt to help his father’s chances of being paroled, Evan decides to spend time with his grandfather. While spending the day at the horse races, Evan discovers the truth behind his grandfather’s absence from his life.

I was so happy to hear yesterday’s news that Franklin and Bash has been picked up for a second season. This continues to be one of my favorite Wednesday night shows. Each episode is a great mix of humor and interesting cases of the week. These two guys make being a lawyer look like the most fun job one could have!

In tonight’s episode, “Bachelor Party,” after his bachelor party, Janine’s fiance seeks legal counsel. Jared returns to his former high school for a case involving a teacher. (James Van Der Beek, Dawson’s Creek, guest stars.)

My second pick tonight are the comedies on TV Land. These shows always crack me up, and when a great guest star comes on, I can’t help but be even more excited to watch. If you haven’t watched these yet, please don’t be scared off because they are on TV Land or star a bunch of women, or a woman with a kind of annoying voice and a gay man. They are so great, and they deserve every viewer they can get.

Speaking of guest stars… On tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, when Victoria’s daughter (guest star Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ghost Whisperer) comes for a visit with the intention of publishing a tell-all book about her childhood, Victoria asks for Elka’s help in changing the young woman’s mind. Melanie and Joy try to determine which of them has a secret admirer.

Then on tonight’s episode of Happily Divorced, Fran becomes interested in a man that she met through an online dating website, but she begins to worry whether her previous relationship with Peter has negatively affected her. Peter discovers that dishonesty is prevalent in the online dating world.

Check them out tonight on TV Land at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c! Learn where to find episodes online of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced @ Clicker.

While Tommy may have been lead around like a dog on a leash last episode, he aims to make sure that was a one time occurrence. There is no one who can tame that Gavin! An all new season of Rescue Me has just begun, and it’s oozing with fantastic drama and tons of tension. With the idea of a film commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaching, Tommy’s mind is going to get messed with, and he’ll continue to be tested.  When Tommy Gavin unravels, it makes for must see TV!

Tonight, Tommy puts an end to Kelly’s dull date and to his spell of uselessness. Lou becomes a godfather, and Colleen settles on a wedding dress. Tommy also finally sits down for his interview, and all doesn’t end well.

I missed doing my weekly review of So You Think You Can Dance last week when I was in San Diego. It was a great episode, with the hilarious and adorable Neil Patrick Harris as a guest judge. It’s weird for me with the judges still deciding who went home last week. Usually, it’s America’s choice with the top 10 and on, but this year is a bit different.

On tonight’s episode, we watch the final 8 dancers take to the stage, and hopefully they knock it out of the park. Lady Gaga is going to be the guest judge, so it’s going to be an interesting night, no matter what.

My third pick is tonight’s episode of Melissa & Joey. So far, we’re still getting glimpses of the chemistry between the two characters, and I’m loving it! The last few episodes have kind of been light on the whole parenting gig side of the show, but this week hits that a lot harder. The previews look extremely funny, so I’m excited to see it!

Tonight, on “Toledo’s Next Top Model,” Lennox gets scouted by a modeling agency at the mall and is excited by the prospect. Mel remains skeptical of the career path until she sees how much money Lennox could be make to help towards college. However, agency owner Tasha (guest star Vivica A. Fox) pushes Lennox beyond her comfort zone. Meanwhile, Joe gives Ryder dating advice when he starts seeing a girl from school, but her increasing demands make Ryder second-guess his relationship.

Check it out tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Melissa & Joey @ Clicker.
