If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/7/11

It’s the start of another great week in television, and while last week was awesome, it did have its down points. One of those down points was the series premiere of Take the Money and Run. I’m really hoping that this week’s episode redeems it, but… most likely not. We don’t have to worry about that tonight, though, because tonight is filled with fantastic new episodes and an anticipated season finale. Look below, and we’ll help you plan your night. 🙂

This season of True Blood has been exciting and messed up. Exciting because the storylines are moving quickly, and of course, because of the relationships that are evolving. 😉 It’s been messed up because the witches are freaky, the evil baby is disturbing, and the whole Tommy is a skin walker thing is just creepy. What do we expect? It’s True Blood, after all. 😀

On tonight’s episode, Marnie’s powers from beyond force Bill to take evasive, though unpopular, action to save vampires. Luna learns something new about Sam. Andy has a date with Holly. Jessica contemplates her future with Hoyt. Alcide and Debbie run with a different crowd.

Tonight is the long awaited 2-hour season finale of Falling Skies. I say long awaited, because even though really, we haven’t been waiting that long, the wait has seemed to be FOREVER. The show has gotten so incredibly exciting and we watch on the edge of our seats each week. My family and I are all so sad this is the finale, but we know it’s already been renewed for a 2nd season, so if we have to wait for more, we will. Tonight’s episodes should provide us with enough excitement to take our minds off anything but what is playing tonight, so that’ll be good. Have you been watching? If not, I highly suggest you check out the episodes you can find on TNT’s website, and hopefully, we’ll get a DVD of the show soon, because I want to rewatch them all! The actors, the characters, the story… They just all combine to be one of my favorite shows ever, and if you watch it, I think you’ll agree it’s fantastic!

On the first hour of tonight’s season finale, the tension between Tom and Weaver leads to disagreements that jeopardize the intricate attack plan on the alien base structure, which both have agreed is a critical stage in their continual survival as a resistance and as a species.

Then on the second hour, the largest and most important attack on the alien invaders commences its first phase, but the complete man power of the resistance is unable to be utilized as Tom and the others desperately attempt to fight off a surprise attack.

While I can’t wait for tonight’s double-episode season finale of Falling Skies, Jenny has already done a great job telling you why you should watch. I love having a TiVo, because there’s always so much great TV that overlaps, and tonight, I’m also looking forward to Breaking Bad. This season, we have seen Skyler getting her hands dirty by taking ownership of setting up her husband’s cover business, and in the process, getting revenge against her Walt’s former employers. While she may have originally been shocked, surprised, and appalled by her husband’s venture, she now seems eager and excited to get involved and wield her power. I’m really enjoying this bad side of Skylar, and it will be interesting to see just how far she goes—will she even get her hands into the actual drug side of the business?!

Meanwhile, things are falling apart for Skylar’s sister, Marie, who has turned back to petty theft as a way to re-empower herself after becoming a slave to her bedridden husband. However, in last week’s episode, we saw a glimmer of hope for the Schraders when a former coworker asked Hank to help him look into some new developments on the Heisenberg case. I hope this motivates Hank to finally get out of bed and turn his life around—it is pretty depressing seeing this former DEA big-shot laying in bed, cataloging rocks all day! I want to see Hank back in the cat and mouse game with Heisenberg, getting close to discovering Walt’s double-life. Breaking Bad continues to be a riveting drama that I look forward to every Sunday.

In tonight’s episode, “Bullet Points,” the Cartel gain the upper hand, Walt and Skyler share a secret with the family, and Jesse’s activities draw unwanted attention.

Catch it tonight on AMC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Breaking Bad @ Clicker.

Last week on The Glades, we FINALLY saw some real interaction between Callie and Jim. Nothing too personal or at all romantic yet, but I have my hopes that maybe tonight, we’ll get a bit closer to seeing the two of them as a couple again. Now if Callie could just get the damn divorce already, things would be golden. 😉

A popular high school teacher and soccer coach is found shot to death under the bleachers at school. Jeff is especially affected by his coach’s murder. Not only was the victim Jeff’s mentor, he was his security blanket for those awkward times a freshman often faces. Jim Longworth’s investigation leads him to a bullied freshman, but leaves him wondering where a 15-year-old got a gun. Jim and the FDLE track two new suspects, a shady guy at a flea market and a sporting goods store owner, ultimately ending in two tense standoffs.

I love love love when Jeff is involved with cases, because not only does it mean Callie is involved, I just adore the kid. He’s so funny and smart, sarcastic and witty… He’s the perfect kid version of both Callie and Jim. lol

Jane really hits the motherload as Mom’s the word in tonight’s episode of Drop Dead Diva. We all know our moms have the best of intentions with whatever they do, but sometimes, it’s at the expense of their kids. Jane’s mom, on the other hand, seems to act and speak before she thinks! It may even have rubbed off on Jane a little bit! Thankfully, Jane knows how to keep a level head when need be. Let’s see if she can use it to bail her mom out of whatever hole she’s dug herself into!

Tonight, Jane’s mother finds herself in hot water when she gets arrested, while Grayson has his own mother issues with Deb’s mother, who he convinces to sue a local casino for using Deb’s image. Meanwhile, Kim gives Fred some relationship advice.
