If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/9/11

Did anyone else watch that amazing episode of Teen Wolf last night? Wasn’t it creepy and delicious? All I can think is that if that episode was so good, where is the season finale going to take us? Enough about last night’s television. Let’s see what tonight has to offer!

Combat Hospital might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it amuses me. I enjoy not only the relationships, but the medical cases, as well. I’ve also been loving the Canadian voice the show has (obviously because I’m proudly Canadian), and the cast is really quite good. The sexual tension between Dr. Simon Hill (Luke Mably, The Gates) and Major Rebecca Gordon (Michelle Borth, Hawaii Five-0) is starting to reach its breaking point, and I’m excited to see where it takes us.

On tonight’s episode, Bobby makes a controversial decision to try and save a patient at all costs, and that decision opens a rift beween the doctors and the nurses at Role 3 hospital.

Tune in to ABC at 10/9c to see how far Bobby goes and what it costs him. Learn where to find episodes online of Combat Hospital @ Clicker.

I’ve been a staunch supporter of Covert Affairs since episode one. I know some people have been iffy about it, or felt like it’s let them down sometimes, but honestly, I’ve loved every bit of it. Annie has grown so much in the first two seasons, but she still has a long way to go, which makes it fun. We’ve also been leading up her sister, Danielle, finding out she doesn’t really work for the Smithsonian—that she’s really a CIA agent. Eek. Danielle has been following Annie, trying to find her at “work,” and just kind of making a nuisance of herself. But she loves Annie, so it’s all with the best of intentions. The preview for tonight’s episode was INTENSE, for not only Annie and Danielle, but Auggie, as well. This is a can’t miss episode for me, and should be for you, as well.

On tonight’s episode, Annie agrees to take the lead on a mission to help a Chinese scientist safely defect to the United States, but she soon learns the complicated extraction has a strong chance of affecting her relationship with Danielle.

Last week, I was fortunate to participate in a conference call with Tiffani Thiessen, which got me even more excited for tonight’s “riveting, surprising, and shocking” mid-season finale of White Collar. It’s great when the series gives Elizabeth Burke a larger role, rather than just reading a book, or eating dinner with Peter. She was wonderful in the “Veiled Threat” episode a few weeks back, where she was a major part of the case. Tiffani said that she plays a major role in tonight’s episode, so I am really looking forward to that. I have so many questions for tonight’s episode, such as: Will Peter discover evidence that Neal and Mozzie were behind the theft of the paintings? What will Sara do with her knowledge of Neal’s activities? How is Elizabeth going to get involved in all of this? Tonight’s episode should have us on the edge of our seats, and I can’t wait to see what cliffhanger we are going to be left pondering while awaiting new episodes in January! (Check back to the site today to see the chat with Tiffani!)

In tonight’s episode, “Countdown,” Neal and Mozzie must stay ahead of the FBI when one of the treasure’s paintings is flagged.

I have to admit, I’m a week behind on my Memphis Beat. The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY here, what with family visiting 2 weekends in a row, my kiddo coming down with a horrible ear infection, and so much more that watching some of the built up TV has had to take a back seat to real life. No fear, though, I will record tonight’s episode and then have a mini Memphis Beat marathon this weekend. I can’t wait, because this show never fails to make me smile at how fantastic it is.

Tonight, Dwight and Whitehead visit a family from Whitehead’s past, but when they get there, they discover they are in the middle of a murder mystery. Back at the station, Lt. Rice, Davey, and Greenback attempt to figure out how a man managed to be locked up there in jail.

Fresh off of the Teen Choice Awards for Pretty Little Liars, everything seemed to be coming up roses. Well, actually, more like Rosewood! Lucy Hale took home the award for Female TV Summer Star, while her on-screen heartthrob, Ian Harding, took home Male TV Summer Star. The show itself took home Choice Summer TV Show, and it’s all due to the fans! The fans are at the heart of the votes for the Teen Choice Awards, and if you watch Pretty Little Liars, you’ll see that Choice Summer TV Show is quite the fitting award. This breakout hit for ABC Family continues to bring the drama, suspense, humor, and intrigue all rolled up into four little liars.

On an all new episode, ever since Jason DiLaurentis came back to Rosewood, so many questions about him have been continually posed. Many residents don’t trust him and are suspicious about his motives for returning. Others…see him in quite a different light. Emily, Aria, Spencer, and Hanna are no different. Spencer sets out to find what it is that Jason is hiding in his house and decides that she is going to finally get some of the answers she craves so much. With Emily in tow, Spencer makes her move, but is Emily ready to deal with what they discover? Especially with the ulcer she’s developed from all of the stress, lies, and blackmail! Aria, on the other hand, seems to not be able to shake Jason from her mind for different reasons. With Jason continuing to show up in Aria’s life, will she be able to resist their seriously undeniable chemistry? Meanwhile, Hanna helps Caleb with a difficult decision about his family, which could help her put her relationship with her own father into a lot of perspective.

One of the shows my family and I have enjoyed two seasons of so far is History Channel’s Top Shot competition series. We tend to pick out our favorite and least favorite competitors early on and really enjoy rooting them on and booing when the ones we think are jerks say or do something we don’t like. Myself? I go for the underdog a lot. I’ll never forget poor Kelly from season 1, who was underestimated at every turn, and got further than any of them thought he would, before he was basically run out of the competition, and Jamie from season 2, who got picked on behind his back a LOT because he was “only” a rescue swimmer in the Navy. Like I said… Underdogs. Hopefully, this season will give me someone like Kelly or Jamie I can root for!

Facing the most intense season so far, new marksmen competitors, including a national revolver champion, two Homeland Security agents, a former Navy SEAL, and others, endure obstacle courses, pole climbs, moving stagecoaches, and more to shoot targets.

I’ve only seen part of an episode of Top Shot, but it looked good. It’s definitely one of those shows I would watch if I didn’t already have 100 other shows on my schedule.
As for Memphis Beat, this is one of those shows that I quit while watching the pilot episode. The whole Elvis thing just didn’t click with me. However, I saw an ad the other day, and it looked like a fun cop show…I would give it another shot if I didn’t already have the aforementioned pile-o-TV.

  2. Jenny says:

Yeah, Top Shot is fun. 🙂 The Elvis part of Memphis Beat totally is just a tiny thing. He (Dwight, not Elvis. *snicker*) sings once an ep, if that. And yeah, it’s a great cop show. heh 🙂

  3. Kathryn says:

None of you are watching Rookie Blue?? You’re missing out!!

  4. Kyle says:

I think we’re all watching Rookie Blue–this was just tonight’s picks–that airs on Thursdays in the US (not sure about elsewhere).

  5. Jenny says:

Like Kyle said… RB is a staple for this site! lol It airs tomorrow. 🙂 Megan & I will both be recommending it. 😀

  6. Megan says:

Jenny you freaked me out, I was like Rookie Blue airs tomorrow? It’s only Wednesday tomorrow. For the record for anyone reading our comments, Rookie Blue is on Thursday nights at 10/9 c on ABC, and on Global TV if you’re Canadian 🙂

  7. Jenny says:

Hah! No, sorry! Oi. I’ve been a day ahead in my mind all week! Driving me batty!

  8. Kyle says:

Finally watched this week’s Teen Wolf–such a great episode! It’s great to see that they’ve found the humor of the film. What a great cliffhanger ending–can’t wait for the season finale.

  9. Megan says:

I think that Teen Wolf has had the humour all along, especially in the form of Stiles (Dylan O’Brien). That boy has amazing comedic timing. I loved how he came to Lydia’s rescue with so little fear. He’s the real hero of the show most of the time, the brains behind it all too.

  10. Kyle says:

Yeah, it’s always been funny with Stiles. But this episode seemed to kick up the humor for other cast members as well–like with the wolfing out to scare the lacrosse guy into going to the prom, the gay prom stuff, etc.
