If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/11/11

It’s the start of a new week in television, and while there are a few premieres, for the most part, this week is the calm before the storm of Fall shows. Tonight is bringing us a few finales and a couple great new episodes. Although the most important part of today is to take a minute and remember all the men and women who lost their lives on this fateful day 10 years ago. May we all take a minute to hug and be with the ones we love today, because there are those who no longer have that priviledge.

Tonight is the season finale of True Blood, and what a season it has been. I won’t lie… I haven’t loved every minute of it. However, it hasn’t stopped me from being glued to my screen every Sunday night. My favorite story arcs have been the ones involving Sookie and Eric, while my least favorite have been the ones involving Jason’s torture. All my favorite moments aside, I am anxious to see how it all finishes up tonight.

On tonight’s finale, Bon Temps is overrun by ghosts, which gives Sookie the help she needs to fight Marnie. Jesus & Lafayette’s relationship is jeopardized after a new medium visits them. Sam and Luna imagine a happy and perfect future. Sookie and Tara are confronted by Debbie.

Last week was another amazing episode of Breaking Bad. Through a flashback story, we got to see a much more naive Gus just trying to break into the drug business. Meanwhile, Jesse started to question whether his loyalty was being focused towards the wrong man, and Walter was enlisted by Hank to help in his investigation. I loved how the flashback story was contrasted with Walter pleading to the Gus, assuring him he was not actually helping the police. It really showed how the orignally meek Gustavo had become this powerful, feared kingpin. This is the kind of storytelling that makes this show so fantastic and makes it my top pick every Sunday.

In tonight’s episode, “Salud,” Walt’s family worries when he doesn’t show up for Walt Jr’s birthday, and Jesse puts his lab skills to the test without Mr White’s help.

The end of an era is upon us as the men of Entourage say goodnight with the series finale of this bro-centric show! Vince, Eric, Turtle, and Drama’s adventures come to an end tonight. Entourage is one of the most loved shows that has brought a lot of laughs over the years, and it will be hard to let go. Reruns air nightly, but nothing beats a fresh episode of the show that made Sunday nights cool again. Give your bros the right send off by tuning in to the series finale and bid the boys a bon voyage!

Tonight’s series finale has Vince pulling out all the stops for Sophia after their first date. Ari and Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves) take a step forward and a step back at therapy. Drama, Turtle and Vice try to convince Sloan that she should give Eric another chance.

It was fun for me to see the teams on The Great Food Truck Race in Manhattan, Kansas, last week. The right team went home, imo, although there is still one (or two…) teams I’d LOVE to see go right away. Tonight’s episode looks like it’ll be really good, because the previews all show Tyler talking to the group and saying someone cheated (or tried to cheat? I dunno…) and they are disqualified. No idea who it was or whatever happened, but I can’t wait to find out!

On tonight’s episode, the four remaining trucks arrive in Memphis, Tennessee, and must create a delicious barbecue dish using a 100-pound hog. Tyler reveals that for the Speed Bump challenge, teams are not allowed to sell dishes with meat in them.

Tonight, another hilarious season of Curb Your Enthusiam comes to an end. Larry’s move to New York happened so late in the season that it seems like things were just getting started, but here we are at the end. Larry David is still full of ideas—this season has been on par with previous ones. They continue to get some great guest stars, and from the title of tonight’s episode, it sounds like we’ll be seeing another one! I always forget just how funny this show is until it returns for a new season, I hope it gets picked up for more.

In tonight’s episode, “Larry vs. Michael J. Fox,” Larry accuses his neighbor of harassment, Jeff takes a bullet for Susie, and Larry gives an inappropriate gift to Elizabeth’s son.
