We’ve survived the first big week back, with just Friday night to get through now. How did everyone do? Are there shows you loved, and ones that let you down? We want to hear all about it below. For now, though, let’s take a look at all the delectable television you should be watching tonight.

This time last year, Blue Bloods was just premiering and had yet to prove itself. At the end of its first season, it had captured all of our attentions and made us fans. I love the cast, and I really enjoy the way they manage to balance the family relationships throughout the cases. Donnie Wahlberg is very convincing in his role as Danny, and he’s not hard to watch, either.
The second season begins with a supporter of the new mayor being murdered and the mayor asking Frank to spin the story so it looks like a random act of violence. Meanwhile, Jamie gets his first undercover assignment.

My top pick tonight is the series premiere of a new drama on CBS called A Gifted Man. The promos for this show look so sad! From CBS: “A Gifted Man is a drama about a brilliant, charismatic surgeon whose life changes forever when his deceased ex-wife begins teaching him the meaning of life from the ‘hereafter.’ Michael Holt is an exceptional doctor who lives a materialistic life of luxury thanks to his work-obsessed career and powerful and wealthy patients; however, Michael’s ordered world is rocked when his ex-wife, Anna, an idealistic free-clinic doctor and the love of his life, mysteriously appears to him. In an attempt to go back to his ‘normal’ life, Michael visits Anton, a carpenter who moonlights as a Shaman to try and extract Anna’s spirit from his body, but when Anna reappears and asks Michael to go to her clinic to help keep it running, he realizes she needs him more now then ever. Curious about Michael’s sudden change in behavior is his efficient assistant, Rita, who works tirelessly to facilitate his schedule in order to accommodate his added responsibilities at the clinic. Touched by those in need and accepting of Anna’s compassionate ‘presence,’ Michael’s attitude toward serving the rich and poor is turned upside down, and he begins to see that there’s room in his life for everyone. It stars Patrick Wilson, Margo Martindale (Justified), Jennifer Ehle, and Pablo Schreiber (Weeds, Lights Out, The Wire). Recurring are Afton Williamson (Homeland), Julie Benz (No Ordinary Family, Dexter), and Liam Aiken.
On tonight’s episode, after the ghost of Michael’s ex-wife visits him from the afterlife and asks him to help continue running her low income clinic, he finds himself rushing back and forth between taking care of his own patients at Holt Neuro and her less fortunate patients at the clinic. Bill Irwin (CSI) guest stars.

Fringe is back! At the end of last season, Peter was erased from existence, and we were left with the question “Where is Peter Bishop?” I appreciate a series much more if the cliffhanger from the previous season is not all wrapped up in the following season’s premiere. Fortunately, Fringe falls into this category. Tonight’s episode is more of a monster-of-the-week story, while also exploring the aftermath of last season’s finale and introducing what looks to be the big arcs of this season. I like where the show is heading this season, and can’t wait for more! (It was also great to see Joe Flanigan of Stargate: Atlantis guest starring in tonight’s episode.)
In tonight’s season four premiere, “Neither Here Nor There,” Lincoln Lee joins the team as they investigate a shapeshifter case that he is personally invested in.

Gordon Ramsay must be one of the busiest men alive! He has restaurants, cookbooks, and so many TV shows, it’s easy to lose track. 🙂 Tonight is the season premiere of Kitchen Nightmares on FOX. In case you’ve been living under a rock, this is the series where Ramsay shows his softer side. He goes into failing restaurants, yells, screams, cooks, and helps them change things around. All kidding aside, Ramsay shows how much he actually cares and is usually successful in changing the lives of these people forever.
On tonight’s episode, Chef Ramsay visits Blackberry’s Catering and Family restaurant in Plainfield, N.J. He explains that both the quality of the food and the serivce need to improve, or they’ll have to shut their doors forever.
See if Ramsay can turn this restaurant around before it’s too late when you tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

There are some shows where the season finale feels like a series finale. One reason is because the showrunners don’t know until after the episode has been shot whether or not their show has been renewed or not. Such is the case—I’d assume—for CSI: NY, because the end of last season really could have gone out as the end of the series. It wrapped up some storylines and left things open for the team and their future, without leaving any big cliffhangers. That’s all well and good, but we get a new season, which is exciting, because I do love the show. We last saw Danny getting a promotion. What that means for him now, I have no idea. How will they work that in? I guess we’ll find out! Tonight’s episode is all about looking ten years back, when the terrorist attacks happened on 9/11. I’ve been looking forward to this episode since I first heard about it.
On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Mac and the team remember specific moments from that day that were indelibly burned in their mind. Even Lindsay, who wasn’t in NYC at the time of the attack, is shown coming to the city to help with rescue or cleanup (I don’t remember which, but it’s something in that vein). Robert Forster (Alcatraz) guest stars as Retired Fire Chief Joe Vincent, an old friend of Mac’s, and Jaime Ray Newman (Eastwick, Eureka) guest stars as Mac’s late wife, Claire Taylor.

Tonight, I’m also looking forward to the second season premiere of Nikita. Last year at this time, I was very wary about this CW show that was going to remake a favorite film of mine. However, it turned out to be a surprise hit for me, and one of the only two CW shows I plan to watch regularly this season. Nikita is a great action show in a similar vein to Alias. It does a great job of mixing mission-of-the-week type stories, while also exploring more complex, larger arcs. When we left off last season, Nikita & Michael had just obtained the black box, and Alex was recruited into Oversight by Amanda, in order to stop Nikita from releasing the black box.
In tonight’s episode, “Game Change,” Michael and Nikita are ready to use the black box’s contents to take down Division and Oversight, and Amanda asks for Alex’s help with a mission.

Supernatural is one of those rare shows that combines the paranormal, comedy, and hot boys, and more importantly, does it well. I love the relationship between Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki). They are exactly the way real brothers should be. They fight, they hate it each other, and then when the world is on the verge of ending, they have each other’s back. Let’s face it, on Supernatural, the world is always ending… They look hot saving it, so I’ll keep watching. 😉 It’s going to be a crazy season, especially with Castiel going all evil, which is really going to make life hell for the Winchester brothers.
On tonight’s season premiere, Castiel assumes his new role as God and warns Sam and Dean to not interfere with him. Meanwhile, Dean tries to persuade Death to stop Castiel, and Sam struggles with the broken wall in his head.

There is one episode left after tonight of Syfy’s Haven. It’s been an absolutely insane season, and tonight doesn’t look like it’s going to be any different. I love this show and enjoy every episode, which I can’t always say about shows—even the ones I really like. Some of it is because the “cases of the week” have ranged from interesting to heartbreaking, and some of it is because the personal relationships have been kind of all over the place this season. Nathan realized he has feelings for Audrey. Audrey dated and then broke up with Chris. Duke realized Edi was playing him, but she got killed and left him hell bent on revenge against the Rev. It’s just all kind of good.
On tonight’s episode, shocking secrets from their past and an unexpected kiss put Audrey, Nathan, and Duke on a collision course with their destinies.
