Take a deep breath in and out. Again. Don’t panic. Yes, there are a lot of shows on, but you can handle it. Your DVR may implode, but you’ll be fine. *laugh* It’s seriously crazy, I know! But I am so damn glad we’ve got all this great TV on! What new shows have you watched? Which have you enjoyed so far? One new series I really enjoyed was Poppy Montgomery’s Unforgettable. But there are a lot I really liked and can’t wait to see more of, so… Let’s see what’s on this week to make us happy, huh? – Jenny
Team Choice
There is one show that Megan, Kyle, and I all wanted to recommend, and rather than splitting it up into 3 separate choices, we decided to combine it. FOX’s Terra Nova looks like it’ll be one of the most exciting shows on network television in a while. From FOX: “Terra Nova follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in jeopardy, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past. The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first colony established in this beautiful yet foreboding land. The show stars Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars), Stephen Lang (Avatar), and Christine Adams (TRON: Legacy), along with Shelley Conn (Mistresses), Landon Liboiron (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Allison Miller (Kings), Naomi Scott (Life Bites), Alana Mansour. Read on to find out why we think you should watch.
Jenny: Dinosaurs! Beautiful scenery! Interesting storylines! Seriously, the show seems to have it all. I love a show that can combine elements of every genre, from science fiction/fantasy, to drama, to comedy. The show was shot in Australia, so you know before you even see it that the setting is going to be gorgeous. The promos have been interesting, letting us know that this new world is not the Utopia you would think. Be sure and check out our Jason O’Mara interview for more!
Megan: I just had to suggest Terra Nova, even though Kyle and Jenny are both also suggesting it. You can’t have too much of a good thing, and Terra Nova is a really good thing. I loved the pilot. It was seriously epic. The show isn’t just about dinosaurs, or adventure; it’s about family and struggles. There’s nothing more heartbreaking than being a parent, and watching the sacrifices these parents have to make for their children to survive is moving. That said, it’s not all drama. There’s a touch of humour and lots of adventure. You’d be a fool to miss out on this new, and sure to be hit drama.
Kyle: Tonight’s Terra Nova premiere is feature film quality, giving us some excellent Jurassic Park style Dino action and an interesting premise. I could also see some influences from some of my favorite TV shows, such as Stargate and the third season of Lost. The premiere also sets up some great story arcs and mysteries that I can’t wait to see explored.
Do not miss the 2-hour series premiere tonight on FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Terra Nova @ Clicker.

Another series premiere tonight that I’m looking forward to is Hart of Dixie on The CW. I’ve heard it described as sort of the TV version of the Michael J. Fox film, Doc Hollywood, (or even Everwood from a few years back on TV) with a female lead. I haven’t seen it yet, so I can’t comment on how alike they are, but the premise is sort of the same—big city doctor turns small town country doctor. This one stars Rachel Bilson, who is most well-known for her role as Summer on The O.C.. She’s absolutely adorable, and I just have a feeling she is the perfect person for this role.
Fast-talking New Yorker Zoe Hart (Bilson) has her life all figured out until she is turned down for a prestigious fellowship she had been certain she would get. Desperate, she decides to finally accept the offer of a kindly stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes (guest star Nicholas Pryor), whom she met at her medical school graduation, and who had proposed she join his small medical practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Jaime King (My Generation, Gary Unmarried, Kitchen Confidential, The Class), Wilson Bethel (Generation Kill), Cress Williams (Close to Home, Nash Bridges), McKaley Miller (The Gates), Kaitlyn Black, Ross Philips, and Scott Porter (The Good Wife, Friday Night Lights, Caprica) also star. Tim Matheson guest stars.

Want to be transported back to the 1960s during an era that was like no other? Then you’re going to want to not miss a moment of the new show The Playboy Club! This show tells the story of the infamous Playboy Club in Chicago and all of the Playboy bunnies who made their mark! In the series opener, we met the bunnies, who will no doubt bring enough drama and vivacity that will keep you transfixed weekly. Not only did we meet the bunnies, but we were introduced to Nick Dalton, who is a prominent attorney and frequent customer at the club. He got mixed up with new bunny Mureen and a murder coverup began. Bunny Janie and bartender Max are dating, but she’s holding back a secret from him, and his jealousy streak is becoming a problem. Bunny Carol-Lynne is the oldest bunny, and she does not like the attention that she is seeing go on between her man Nick and Maureen. Bunny Alice is harboring a secret of her own, and Bunny Brenda has high aspirations. There is scandal, murder, maffia, sex appeal, and more—a little something for everyone—so make sure you’re not missing a moment!
Tonight, secrets come to light as the Bunnies train for a contest to be a cover girl. Also, Nick gets support in his run for district attorney from Mayor Daley.

Last week’s season premiere of Hawaii Five-0 was everything I needed it to be and more. I loved how they got Steve (my boyfriend, Alex O’Loughlin), to break out of prison, and I really loved seeing James Marsters (aka Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) again. What I wasn’t expecting was Jenna (Larisa Oleynik, 10 Things I Hate About You) to be working with Wo Fat. For once, I didn’t see a storyline coming!
On tonight’s episode, Five-0 is assigned a new officer (Lauren German, Happy Town) by the governor’s office to keep an eye on McGarrett. Meanwhile, the team investigates the kidnapping of a teen paddleboard champion, and Kono continues to be interrogated by Internal Affairs.
See how the team handles the new addition and if Kona can rejoin the team soon when you tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hawaii Five-0 @ Clicker.

My third choice tonight is the season premiere of Mike & Molly on CBS. I loved the first season last year of this cute little comedy. The leads (Billy Gardell, Yes, Dear & Melissa McCarthy, Samantha Who?, Gilmore Girls) are terrific, but honestly, the supporting cast is just as good—if not better. Swoosie Kurtz (Pushing Daisies, Sisters), Katy Mixon—who is dating Paula Dean’s son lol—(Eastbound & Down), Reno Wilson (Blind Justice), Nyambi Nyambi, Cleo King (Deadwood, Boston Public), Louis Mustillo (The Young and the Restless), & Rondi Reed are absolutely brilliant! Together, they all make the show an incredibly sweet, funny, and charismatic comedy. The premise was (is? heh) about an overweight man and woman who meet at an Overeaters’ Anonymous meeting, but it’s evolved into so much more than that. It is truly a sweet show and was one of my favorite new shows last season.
On tonight’s season premiere, Mike and Molly have to learn to adjust to their status as a newly engaged couple, when Molly wants to go ahead and start planning their wedding, but Mike would rather take some time to go fishing with the guys for the weekend.

If you didn’t catch the series premiere of 2 Broke Girls last week, you need to find it online and tune in. Not so much in order to catch up, but the series premiere was too funny to miss out on, especially because of show star Kat Dennings! Kat knows how to deliver a line to pure perfection, and she has comedic timing down to a science. Newcomer Beth Behrs does a decent job with keeping up, but Dennings really seems to steal the show. Dennings plays Max Black, who works two jobs—one as a waitress in a dingy diner, and the other as a nanny to an upper crust family. When the second waitress in the diner gets fired, the owner hires new blood in the form of Caroline Channing. Caroline is an uptown pampered princess who has to give waitressing a shot when her family’s assets get frozen. Max has to show Caroline the ropes of the business, and the two may not become fast friends, but they do manage to make for double the laughs.
On tonight’s episode, thinking she is being helpful, Caroline facilitates Max’s breakup with boyfriend Robbie.

Weeds hasn’t yet been picked up for another season, so I have no idea if tonight’s episode is a season, or series, finale. When we last saw the Botwins, Silas had contacted Nancy’s sister to prevent Nancy from getting custody of her 4-year-old son. Heylia was seeking revenge after her drug shipment was high-jacked. And Emma revealed the truth about Nancy’s business to the police. This has been a fun and exciting season, and I’m hoping for some kind of resolution in case tonight is the series finale. However, if all of the previous season finales are any indication, I think we can expect some huge cliffhanger!
In tonight’s episode, “Do Her / Don’t Do Her,” Silas betrays Nancy, while Doug and Whit hatch a plan to keep the hedge fund alive.
Check it out tonight on Showtime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Weeds @ Clicker.

How much did you love last week’s Castle? If you enjoyed it half as much as I did, you had to have loved it. Beckett is healed and back to work after getting shot in the season finale, but she lied to Castle when she told him she didn’t remember anything after the shot. We found out in the last minute that she remembers everything—including, we’re to assume, his declaration of love. The new captain looks like she’s going to be a … pardon the French … a ball buster, and the first person’s balls she wants to bust is Castle’s. He showed her by calling the mayor, who in turn called the captain. She was not happy. lol On a good note for Caskett shippers, Beckett broke up with Doctor Motorcycle Boy Josh, so… now that she is single and knows how Castle feels, how long will it be before she admits to her own feelings? And finally, how will the fact that Castle is hiding info about Beckett’s mother’s case affect their relationship—friends or otherwise? It’s going to be a bumpy ride, but I know it’s not one I want to miss!
On tonight’s episode, “Heroes & Villians,” a former convict is murdered in a darkened alley, and the only possible suspect appears to be a masked vigilante who traverses the city streets while dressed in the costume of a superhero, forcing Castle and Beckett to track him down. It’s a case right up Castle’s alley (so to speak!), I swear!
Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.
Jenny, as much as I didn’t want another CW show on my schedule, I really enjoyed Hart of Dixie (despite it being a clone of Doc Hollywood and many other shows like Everwood, Men in Trees, etc.). The pilot is/was available for free on iTunes.
Megan, we finally differ! I just deleted my season pass for H50 last night. 🙂 I’m all Alex O’d out. I enjoyed his two previous CBS/CW shows and even his CBS-produced The Back-up Plan, but just haven’t been able to get into this one.
As for Lisa’s choices, those are both on the bubble for me (more-so on The Playboy Club), awaiting 2 and/or 3rd episodes before I make a decision.
I will never get tired of Alex O 🙂 that’s inconceivable!
