This week on The X Factor, we watched the contestants go through hell at boot camp. It’s a bit different format for review, because there are a lot of audition performances, so I’m going to review a few that stand out the most to me. Then I’ll list the Top 32, and who is mentoring each group. Feel free to add your own comments below about your favorite parts of the two nights of performances.
My Thoughts: Are you kidding me? That was insanely good. I admit she brought me to tears. “If I were a Boy” is such an emotional and mature song, and she slayed it. I’m so proud of her.
My Thoughts: I really don’t think she’s as talented as everybody seems to think she is. I also think she’s really masculine looking, and it’s distracting. My hope is that the judges finally wake up and don’t put her through. She should be on Dancing with the Stars for has beens.
My Thoughts: For the last performance she’s going to give before the final eliminations, I just didn’t feel it was strong enough.
My Thoughts: I’m not a huge fan of his, but this final performance was stellar. He really fought for his position in the competition. I hope they put him through.
My Thoughts: He is just so darn loveable. This guy is marketable, and he’ll make a great before and after story. His voice is full of soul, and he gives me chills.
My Thoughts: I don’t enjoy her very much, and this was a horrible performance. She forgot the words, and that’s just not good enough for the level of this competition.
My Thoughts: I’m so disappointed in them. That was terrible.
Makenna and Brock
My Thoughts: It was mediocre, and I didn’t enjoy it.
My Thoughts: What is he even still doing here? He’s a joke and annoying.
My Thoughts: I really liked his version, even though Simon thought it was rubbish. Brennin is super cocky, but he’s gorgeous, and his voice is awesome.
The Stereo Hogzz
My Thoughts: That was actually a very creative and well done. They are getting better every time I see them.
My Thoughts: I love him, and I want him to succeed. He is not only a talented rapper, but he has a great voice.
My Thoughts: The girls are going to love him, but I think he needs some more time to mature.
My Thoughts: I really want to love her, because I did in her first audition. This one wasn’t what I was hoping for. It was more! Well done.
My Thoughts: She’s getting better vocally, but she can’t seem to help acting sleazy on stage. It’s like she’s auditioning to be a sex worker, not a singer.
My Thoughts: Honestly, she’s not that impressive. She could use a lot more work, and she’s forgettable, in my opinion. It’s a shame, because originally, I liked her.
My Thoughts: I have loved her since day one, and the love continues. She is amazing for a young girl, and for anybody, of any age, for that matter.
My Thoughts: Is it just me, or did she look stunning tonight? Her voice was beautiful, and she had great stage presence.
My Thoughts: He is one fine man for 59 years old… his voice gives me chills, and he is SO easy on the eyes.
Now let’s take a look at the ones making it through to the judges’ houses:
Girls – Mentored by Simon
Boys – Mentored by L.A. Reid
Groups – Mentored by Paula
Also 2 groups made up of people from the girls and boys categories that the judges felt were better in groups. No names for the groups, as of yet.
Over 30 – Mentored by Nicole
Wow, those are some crazy combinations of mentors and contestants. If I had to pick a winning group, I’d love to choose the girls, because I love Rachel Crow, but I honestly don’t know at this point. Next week, the Top 32 become the Top 16, so it’s going to be a fight to the finish.
To see how this musical battle plays out, tune in to FOX on Wednesday night at 8/7c.
