If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/28/11

Cheers for the freaking weekend! 😉 I am so excited for next week, because a lot of our favorites are returning now that the disaster that is called baseball will be finished. I’m getting ahead of myself, because tonight’s line up of television is amazing. There are a few favorites and a premiere tonight, so read ahead and see what you should be watching.

Tonight is the series premiere of Grimm, and I am SO excited. What is better than a show where the scary fairy tales come to life? Simply nothing. Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), finds out he descends from a special line of profilers known as “Grimms,” who are responsible for keeping the balance between the human and mythological creatures. It’s everyone’s favorite stories come to life—even the villains, like the wolf.

On tonight’s series premiere, a university student is savagely attacked while jogging. A mysterious woman visits her nephew to tell him a family secret in the opener of this new dramatic series.

I know we recommend Blue Bloods a lot, but it really is a show worth every bit of attention we can give it. The cast is by far the best part of the show. The Reagan family is one I wish I could join! They are so supportive of each other and so loving, even when they are disagreeing—which is a common occurrence! Last week, Danny and Linda tried hard to get a romantic weekend away, but a case came up—as it tends to do in real life, as well—and spoiled almost all of their plans. They still got some quality (read, sexy!) time, so that helped. The case was good, too—a doctor and a group of men pulling set up car accidents to scam the insurance companies. Meanwhile, Jamie went back undercover, and while in his role, he had to deal with a real sleazeball and some situations that he was far from comfortable with. It was a tough position to be in, and I really felt for him!

On tonight’s episode, “Black and Blue,” Frank deals with a political crisis after Jamie and Renzulli enter a religious center in response to a 911 call and are injured by the church’s security team, who prohibits them from entering.

Check it out tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.

Tonight is the premiere of the fifth (and final) season of Chuck! In last year’s cliffhanger, Morgan became the new host of the Intersect, while Chuck established a new spy-for-hire business and purchased the Buy More to use as a front. I like that Ellie and Morgan have become a part of the spy action and are no longer just side characters who are blind to what’s going on. Chuck is a show that, solely based on ratings, should never have lasted more than 1 or 2 seasons, but I’m so glad it has! Throughout its run, it has continued to be a fun action/comedy spy series. I’m looking forward to seeing how the plot twists of last season play out and how they wrap things up. It’s always great when the show-runners have a definitive end date, allowing them to give their series a proper ending.

Tonight, season 5 opens with Chuck adapting to changes, such as dealing with an unlikely new Intersect and fronting his freshly minted spy-for-hire business. Carmichael Industries takes on a wealthy thief (Mark Hamill, Star Wars movies!) and a sly investor (Craig Kilborn). Meanwhile, Morgan and Chuck team up to give Sarah a special surprise, and Jeff and Lester launch yet another scheme.

Things are looking a bit…Grimm! Grimm is a brand new TV show from NBC and brings so much drama based off of Grimm’s Fairy Tales. The show revolves around Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli, Privileged) who discovers that he is descended from a very elite line of criminal profilers known as “Grimms.” Grimms are charged with keeping the balance between both humanity and the mythological creatures that live in the world. As Nick tries to guard the dangers of his new found calling from his fiancee, Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), and his partner Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby, Lincoln Heights, In Treatment), he becomes increasingly entrenched in the ancient rivalries and alliances that torment the Grimm world.

Nick gets aid from his confidant, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell, My Name is Earl, Prison Break), who is a reformed Grimm creature himself. Nick has to navigate through the forces of a larger-than-life mythology, face off with Hexenbiests, Blutbads, and all manner of ancient evils that include royal lines dating back to the original profilers themselves, The Grimm Brothers. The show also stars Sasha Roiz (Warehouse 13, Caprica) & Reggie Lee (No Ordinary Family, Persons Unknown).

On tonight’s series premiere, Detective Nick Burkhardt discovers that he is part of a very long line of profilers that are charged with keeping the balance that goes on between humanity and mythological creatures.

It’s a paranormal sort of night tonight, so let’s add Supernatural to the list of things you should be watching. I can’t say it enough that part of the reason you should watch this show is the sexy Winchester brothers. They are sexy, witty, and all together delicious. The chemistry the brothers have is amazing, but also so neccesary. You can’t hunt demons if you’re not tight with your backup. That said, what are the boys going to do as their dishonesty with each other slowly chips away at their bond? When in doubt, the truth is the best choice, boys.

On tonight’s episode, “Slash Fiction,” Sam and Dean are cloned by two Leviathans, who go on a killing sprees as the two brothers, which lands the real Sam and Dean on the FBI’s most wanted list. Meanwhile, Bobby tries to find a way to kill the Leviathans.

To enjoy seeing double of the the delicious brothers, tune in to The CW at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Supernatural @ Clicker.

Another show I recommend a lot on Fridays is Nikita. I know, it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But I love it, because I’m a big fan of the cases, the relationships, and the overall arc of trying to take down Division. Last week, we met Michael’s old “flame,” and I was worried that they would really throw a wrench into the Michael/Nikita relationship with that storyline, but they didn’t. Of course, it all worked out in the end. And Percy! I dunno, I have been enjoying him being locked up and having Amanda in charge, because she just scares me. haha

On tonight’s episode, “343 Walnut Lane,” while searching for information on the black box, Birkoff stumbles upon Nikita’s birth certificate. Nikita and Michael track down Nikita’s father Richard (guest star David Keith, Lone Star, The Class), but the reunion is not quite what Nikita expected. Percy tells Alex that the black box that Nikita has contains information that could help her avenge her father’s death.
