If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/11/11

Thank goodness it’s Friday. It seemed like it took forever to get here. Today is Remembrance Day in Canada, where we take the time to remember our veterans for everything that they have done for us. So to all my fellow Canadians and to all the Americans—who are celebrating Veteran’s Day today, too—don’t forget to take the time to remember our heroes today. As for television, tonight is full of wonderful shows to watch while you kick back and relax, letting the stress of the week just roll away. Let’s take a look.

Friday nights are made better by the Reagan family in my living room weekly on Blue Bloods. I can’t get enough of this police drama, as well as the family battles. Last week’s episode had some storylines that asked the tough questions. I found the Reverend to be a little bit of a know-it-all, and his character was slightly annoying. I do enjoy the fact that Jamie has had more intense story arcs, because more of him is never a bad thing.

On tonight’s episode, “Lonely Hearts Club,” Jackie goes undercover as an escort to catch a serial killer who is murdering prostitues in hotel rooms. Meanwhile, Erin meets a potential suitor (Fred Weller, In Plain Sight!) at an art gallery who shares her interests.

Two episodes ago on Nikita, Michael found out the little boy from a couple of episodes before was actually his son. Last week, we saw how he is handling Nikita’s deception—she knew he was a father and had kept it from him—and even though it was for a valid reason, he still felt deceived. I think it came across that he understood the danger, but he still felt a little betrayed. Then she drugged him when she decided to go after Oversight’s money man—again, she may have had the best of intentions, but she totally went about it the wrong way—and in the end, he was the one who showed up just in the nick of time and saved her bacon. Later, he had an emotional moment where he told her just how much she meant to him, how much he loved her, but he also said if she continues to make those unilateral decisions, he wouldn’t be able to handle it. He is terrified of losing the woman he loves. On the other characters’ fronts, Alex is maybe beginning to find out just how bad a decision it was on her part to partner with Amanda. A childhood friend was killed by Division, and it just broke her. She was also basically locked up “for her protection.” Poor Nikita thinks Ryan was killed, when in reality, Amanda grabbed him and is keeping him captive to help her take down Oversight. And finally…Sean. For a while, I thought he was going to flip and be on Nikita’s side, but in the end, it sounds like he’s still determined to protect…HIS MOTHER…who is on Oversight—and a total b*tch. lol We’ll see how it goes down in future episodes!

On tonight’s episode, “London Calling,” Michael becomes alarmed when he hears Cassandra (guest star Helena Mattsson) is in trouble and rushes off to help her. He discovers General Tupelov (guest star Paulino Nunes) has accused her of stealing two million dollars and has threatened to kill her unless she returns it. However, when Cassandra’s story doesn’t add up, Nikita becomes suspicious of what she might be hiding. Meanwhile, Alex receives a very tempting offer from Percy that could give her the resources to eliminate Semak.

Peter is finally back on Fringe; however, things are far from back-to-normal! No one seems to know this man, and they don’t believe him when he says he is Peter Bishop, who to their knowledge, died as a small child. Walter is almost too afraid to open his heart up to the possibility that this stranger could in fact be his son. Who is more confused by these developments? Peter, who remembers all kinds of experiences that seem to have never happened? Or everyone else, who can’t understand how this stranger knows so much about them? I have already seen, and thoroughly enjoyed, tonight’s episode. It is a very emotional, almost stand-alone story, with an excellent performance by Stephen Root (who will always be Milton from Office Space in my mind), who guest stars with his real-life wife, acting together for the first time.

In tonight’s episode, “And Those We Left Behind,” an electrical engineer (Stephen Root) and his wife (Romy Rosemont), a theoretical physicist, pitch in during a frantic search for a pattern between time-loop anomalies.

Grimm sure knows how to spin a story! Based on the Brothers Grimm tales, this show has put a modern twist on an old classic. Viewers have been getting a taste in the past two episodes about Nick’s new dual life as a Grimm and as a police officer. Having to shield his ability from his partner Hank is not an easy task, let alone shielding them from his fiancee! Luckily, Nick has some help in reformed Grimm, Monroe, to aid in his navigation of his new position. The premiere was all about Little Red Riding Hood. Last week was all about the three bears. What does this week entail? Take time to tune in to give your Friday a little fantasy and find out!

Tonight, in “Beeware,” Nick and Hank investigate a flash mob that ends up turning into a homicide. Also, they must protect a character from Nick’s most recent past.

Tune in to NBC at 9/8c for a very tall tale! Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

The Winchester brothers make me happy, and I can’t get enough of Supernatural this season. The boys are not only dealing with fighting evil, but also fighting their relationships. Last week, they put their anger aside to save the world, and I’m sure there are so many people that are thankful for that.

On tonight’s episode, “Season 7, Time for a Wedding,” while on a hunt, Sam runs into someone from his past and a confrontation ensues. Meanwhile, Dean reluctantly teams up with a quirky, laid-back hunter named Garth (guest star DJ Qualls, Memphis Beat), when he finds himself in a situation that he just cannot explain.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, so far this season on Chuck, we are not supposed to be very fond of Morgan. The Intersect, which he accidentally got implanted into his head at the end of last season, is totally screwing with his brain. If it’s been bothering you as much as it has me, please have faith. I have a feeling things will start to get much better ASAP. Meanwhile, Casey is definitely interested in Gertrude Verbanski, which makes for some fun, interesting storylines! Also love that Awesome is the new face of the Buy More. *laugh*

On tonight’s episode, “Chuck Versus the Frosted Tips,” as the team is tasked with finding one of the CIAs most wanted, Chuck fears that the Intersect may be going to Morgan’s head. Meanwhile, Sarah helps Casey navigate his relationship with Gertrude (guest star Carrie-Anne Moss). Elsewhere, Captain Awesome makes a startling revelation about Jeff and Lester.
