Wow, November sweeps has certainly come to an end. It’s a really light night for new TV shows—there’s plenty of reality shows on tonight, but hardly any scripted fare. So catch up on your DVR backlog and read on to find out which of tonight’s new shows we recommend.
I honestly can’t explain why I continue to watch American Horror Story each week. Each week, it horrifies and shocks me (but not in the scary sense). It just sucks me in, and I can’t stop watching! Sometimes gory, and almost always violent and disturbing, each week, we get a glimpse of the death of another Murder House resident. We also get clues as to how all of these characters are intertwined, and which are not actually alive. Last week, we finally learned the identity of the person in the black rubber gimp suit—young, dead, Tate. Does this mean that Tate is somehow the father of Vivien’s baby? Is that even possible, with him being dead and all? Now that Vivien knows the house is haunted by former residents, will she finally take Violet and leave? Why is Constance so obsessed with keeping the house intact? Is it just that she doesn’t want to lose the spirits of her family, or maybe she is actually dead and tied to the property as well?
In this week’s episode, “Spooky Little Girl,” The Black Dahlia (Mena Suvari), a famous Hollywood murder victim from the 1940s, visits the house. Meanwhile, Constance discovers more of Tate’s bad behavior.

I’m excited, because tonight is the return of TV Land’s number one show, Hot in Cleveland. Valerie Bertinelli (One Day At A Time), Jane Leeves (Frasier), Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me), and the incomparable Betty White (Golden Girls) never fail to make me laugh. They are comedic gold together, honestly. Last season ended at Elka’s (Betty White) wedding to Fred, when her ex-boyfriend, Max, broke in and interrupted the ceremony, begging her to marry him, instead. But then! Then, her thought-to-be dead husband Bobby came in and said she couldn’t marry them, because she was already married to him! Dun dun dun! Meanwhile, Joy and Victoria realized somehow, in the haze of alcohol and the craziness of Elka’s bachelorette party, they got married—to each other. It was a fun episode, and I can’t wait to see how the cliffhanger begins to resolve itself!
Tonight, on “Elka’s Choice,” Elka has a difficult time deciding whether to pursue a relationship with her fiance, her ex-boyfriend, or her husband, who she thought was dead. Victoria is able to book a television appearance due to her marriage to Joy.

The X Factor has been moving along the past few weeks, and this week will be no exception. The top 7 will take to the stage and try to prove they have what it takes to make it in the competition. Last week, we lost Lakoda Rayne and LeRoy Bell, so if you have a favorite, make sure you vote, because two more are going home this week. My favorites are Josh Krajcik and Rachel Crow, and I’m hopeful that they’ll both do well this week. Josh was outstanding last week. Let’s hope he can do it again.

One of my family’s favorite shows to watch together is Psych. I love that not only do my husband & I both really enjoy it and find it extremely hilarious, but our soon to be 14-year-old son does, too. The last episode was hysterical. Shawn ended up in a mental hospital—undercover for a case, of course, although several people thought he should just stay there! I loved seeing him solve the case, as always, but oh my word, Gus flirting with the mental patient—who turned out to have multiple personalities—was priceless!
On tonight’s episode, “In for a Penny…” Juliet’s con-man father arrives for a visit in hopes of mending his troubled relationship with his daughter, but he soon finds himself struggling to stay on the right side of the law when he happens upon an ideal opportunity to pull a con. William Shatner guest stars.

Tonight is the series premiere of I Hate My Teenage Daughter, and you would be a fool to miss it. This new comedy follows two single moms as they raise teenage girls. These teenage girls are a bit of a handful, and this new show gives us a look into the dangerous world of parenting teens. I loved the chemistry between the cast, and the storylines were funny and believable. Jaime Pressy is hilarious as Annie, and you can’t help but love her character from the very first minute you meet her.
On tonight’s episode, two single moms (Jaime Pressly & Katie Finneran), who are best friends, struggle to raise their spoiled, mean-girl, teen daughters who are also best friends. In the comedy’s opener, the teens lock a student in a school bathroom.

I’m looking forward to TV Land’s latest comedy offering, The Exes, if for no other reason than the case. The show stars Kristen Johnson (Third Rock), David Alan Basche (The Starter Wife), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Wayne Knight (Hot in Cleveland, Seinfeld), and Kelly Stables (Two and a Half Men). I loved DAB on USA’s The Starter Wife, and Faison’s Turk was one of my favorite characters on Scrubs, so I have high hopes that this show will make me laugh!
Divorce attorney Holly (Johnston) introduces her newly-single client Stuart (Basche) to his new roommates—ladies’ man Phil (Faison) and homebody Haskell (Knight)—who share an apartment which Holly owns. Things start off a little shaky when the two bachelors have reservations about living with clingy Stuart, but Holly is right across the hall to help them avoid any catastrophes. To top it all off, Holly’s assistant, Eden (Stables), doesn’t exactly let her professionalism get in the way of prying into her boss’s personal life.
