If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/30/11

It’s Friday, and that means my kid is FINALLY on his way home! lol He was having such a good time with my mom, dad, brother & his family (including my almost 4-year-old niece, who apparently has attached herself to my son, telling everyone, “I love my cousin!” *dies of cuteness*), and my sister that he kept putting off when he wanted to come home. lol We’re making him come home today, though, since he starts school again on Tuesday. Next week, things get much closer to normal for TV, but for the last day of crushing slowness, check out what Kyle & I think you should watch.

The powers that be on Chuck are just giving it everything they’ve got to try and give fans what they want this last season of the show. We’ve seen more Ellie & Awesome, some interesting storylines with the Buy More gang, a married Chuck & Sarah, and this week, we get to learn a lot more about Sarah’s past—including meeting two important people. Fans of USA Network’s White Collar will be especially happy, since Tim DeKay is guest starring on tonight’s episode, along with Cheryl Ladd, who was an original Charlie’s Angels – and for those Las Vegas fans, she also played Jillian Deline, Delinda’s mother/Ed’s (James Caan’s) wife.

On tonight’s episode, “Chuck Versus the Baby,” Sarah is forced to confront a secret from her past and feels she must do so alone, while Chuck urges her to let him help. When Sarah encounters her original handler, Kieran Ryker, she fears that he will harm those closest to her, including her mom.

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight is the season finale of Sanctuary. Last week, Helen teamed up with Caleb, the Hollow Earth insurgents’ leader, to form a truce and create a settlement for the Hollow Earth abnormals on Earth. Meanwhile, Addison recalled Will to the FBI and assigned him to arrest and detain Helen for aiding a known terrorist. When Helen managed to escape, Addison revealed his eleventh-hour plan to take advantage of the new, condensed abnormal Fifth Ward settlement. He had the area sealed off, effectively turning it into a prison, while having the news reporters tell people that the area was sealed off due to a toxic industrial spill. However, just when Addison thought Helen was out of moves, she went on the news herself and revealed the truth about abnormals on Earth.

I’m not really sure why Magnus trusts Caleb. I still think he has some ulterior motive – especially after he refused to limit the number of abnormals coming to the new abnormal homeland. It seems like he justs wants to open up the floodgates and let the Hollow Earth abnormals have free reign. Also, now that everyone knows about the abnormals, is there any need for the Sanctuaries? It will be interesting to see how this battle plays out and where the show goes from here if it is picked up for another season.

In tonight’s episode, “Sanctuary For None, Part 2,” Henry and Tesla learn that the SCIU weaponized Tesla’s work to use against Abnormals. Meanwhile, Bigfoot and Kate investigate Caleb’s rise to power while Will and Abby look into Magnus’ past.
