Tonight is also the series premiere of Cajun Pawn Stars on History Channel at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, made internationally famous in Pawn Stars (also on History Channel), isn’t the only family-run shop in America that’s bursting at the seams with one-of-a-kind historical items and fascinating stories. Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center in Alexandria, Louisiana owned and operated by Jimmie DeRamus and his family, is a colorful place that collects an eclectic array of historical merchandise, with a daily stream of quirky local characters attempting to sell, purchase or pawn items – including livestock.
The third series premiere tonight is House of Lies on Showtime at 10/9c. This new dark comedy is about all the screwed up ways big business is practiced these days. The series, based on the hit tell-all book from best-selling author Martin Kihn (“House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time”), peels back the bull to reveal a world few know exists and fewer still have experienced. Meet Marty Kaan (Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle, Ocean’s Eleven), the big-money earner at Galweather & Stearn, along with his hot, young team – The Pod – of big-balling power players – Jeannie (Kristen Bell, Veronica Mars), Clyde (Ben Schwartz, Undercovers) and Doug (Josh Lawson). Marty and The Pod’s work life is all first-class, top-shelf, black Am Ex, the best suites at the nicest hotels. Wild nights on the town servicing the clients are all in a day’s work. Marty is the ultimate power player and under his direction, this ruthless, pull-no-punches team is here to stick it to the man by beating the corporate suckers at their own game.

Tonight is the series premiere of Amazing Eats on Travel Channel at 9/8c. We’ve seen more than our fair share of sizzling cheeseburgers, monster pizza slices and intimidatingly thick and juicy steaks over the years. But of all the down-home and delicious chow-down joints Adam Richman visited from coast to coast, there are the proud and the few so finger-licking good, they’re simply unforgettable. In each themed 30-minute episode, we’re celebrating America’s most delicious, biggest and best of the best. From the most massive of meals served at a single table, to the tallest standing sandwiches in history, we’re embracing it all. Each episode takes on yet another subject of the people’s choices of chow – the meatiest, the most fried, the spiciest and the sweetest.
