If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/10/12

Well, what a birthday celebration we had last night. It was just the three of us, but we made pizzas for dinner, had a special birthday dessert (My kid hates cake… Who hates cake?!), and played Uno and In a Pickle. It was fun. Plus, I got to watch a new episode of Castle. It doesn’t get much better than that! There’s some great stuff on tonight, too, so check out what we think you should watch!

I still really love watching Body of Proof. They do a good job of making Megan getting more in touch with her human side, rather than the almost robotic doctor she had become before she had to quit due to the problem with her hand. Almost every week, we see a little growth, or just a different side to her personality. Like last week, she dealt a lot with her young teenage daughter’s insecurities and wanting to change how she looked and dressed. It hit Megan hard, and I just wanted her to realize that there was something going on besides just what it seemed was obvious. And there was. I loved the talk between the two at the end. Another great part of the episode was all the stuff between Curtis and Ethan, and Ethan and Dani/Peter. I want Peter and Megan together, but he’s cute when he’s with Dani. Of course, the previews for tonight show a LOT of tension between Megan and Peter over the case, and that’s always fun. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Shades of Blue,” when an undercover cop is found executed at a truck stop, the search for the killer hits close to home. Brett Cullen (Make It or Break It, The Gates), Deirdre Lovejoy (Bones, The Wire), and Ransford Doherty (guest starred multiple times on Body of Proof, The Closer) guest star.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Body of Proof @ Clicker.

What would Tuesday be without a little Gibbs on NCIS to keep us going? Last week’s episode was fabulous, because they really addressed the whole relationship and sexual tension between Tony and Ziva thing. It was also terrible that just as the two of them finally started to talk about their feelings, they were interrupted by her boyfriend calling. 🙁 I was not a happy camper. Let’s get those two together already, although Abby and McGee also need to get back together. Aside from all my relationship love for this show (sorry), the team solved the whereabouts of E.J. and brought Scott Wolf’s character into custody.

On tonight’s episode, “Desperate Man,” a navy lieutenant is murdered, and the team investigates while being interrupted by her husband, who is a detective; and Ray Cruz returns to talk to Ziva about their possible future together.

To see if they can solve the case and if Ziva chooses Ray over Tony, tune in to CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ Clicker.

Switched at Birth returned to ABC Family last week, and it looks like Daphne has become a creepy stalker! First, she blew off movie/bonding night with her biological mom to track down Emmett, and then invited herself to snuggle up and spend the night in his tent. Meanwhile, Bay met with her biological father, before heading off to the music festival herself. Before the concert, the guys decide to change their band name to “Free Beer” in hopes of attracting a crowd, but quickly get booed as their ruse is discovered. Meanwhile, Kathryn secretly meets with the nurse who may have made the baby swap, only to discover a hard-working woman who most likely made an honest mistake after a long shift. I think it was a great dramatic start to the new season, but I really hope that Daphne can find her own boyfriend soon. The way she is trying to steal Emmett back from Bay is more creepy than romantic.

In tonight’s episode, “The Tempest,” Bay fails to dazzle Melody with her American Sign Language skills. Elsewhere, Kathryn contemplates writing a book about her baby-swap experience; Daphne befriends an old pal of Bay’s; and Wilke and Toby seek to make a profit by selling phony IDs.

In the series premiere episode of Jane By Design, we were introduced to Jane Quimby and her brother, Ben, both of whom are going through a major financial rough patch. When Jane finds an ad for a paid internship at a fashion house, she decides to take her chances and apply and enroll in her school’s work study program. When a paperwork shuffle occurs, the HR rep ends up mistaking Jane for an older, more qualified Jane. The true Jane finds herself with a part time job as the executive assistant to a highly demanding Gray Chandler Murray! Having to live a double life can take its toll, and Jane soon learns that lesson.

On an all new episode, “The Runway,” Jane ends up being thrown for a loop when Gray assigns her a last minute task of getting the new accessories line ready for the Spring Preview Party. Jane is sure that she’s bit off more than she can chew, but with Jeremy looking to make amends, the two team up in order to guarantee the line is one that both critics and buyers won’t soon forget. Meanwhile, Nick leverages his knowledge about Billy’s secret relationship with Lulu in order to get advice on approaching Jane. When he asks her to the Winter Formal, Jane believes that life couldn’t get any better. But when she realizes that the Winter Formal is the exact same night as the Spring Preview Party, her two enchanting nights may become her absolute worst nightmare.

Tune in at 9/8c to ABC for all the drama! Learn where to find episodes online of Jane By Design @ Clicker.

I am still really enjoying the freshman comedy, Last Man Standing. I love Tim Allen, and Nancy Travis is just fantastic. All the girls that play their daughters are great. People complain about comedies having laugh tracks. I don’t know if this one does. I never do. I don’t pay attention to stuff like that. All I pay attention to is whether or not the show makes ME laugh, and this one does that regularly.

On tonight’s episode, “Take Your Daughter to Work,” Mike is taken aback when he finds out that Ed—who has been an absentee dad—has hired his daughter, Gabriella, to replace him as the new marketing consultant of Outdoor Man. When Ed agrees with Mike that her youth-oriented proposals to re-brand the retail stores aren’t the way to go, she plays the Daddy card for all its worth. Also, Mike and Eve bring home a stray dog that Mandy thinks she’s allergic to. Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos) and Matt Shively guest star.

While I love the original, NCIS: LA has become my favorite of the franchise. There’s something to be said about a hot cast that not only works well together, but has amazing chemistry. Last week’s episode was all over the place, with the new assistant director popping in and rocking the boat. I do not trust that guy, and we’ve already seen he has history with Hetty, where he’s the bad guy. (Well, could Hetty ever be the bad one?) The tension between Nell and Eric last week was outstanding, and I’m hoping they are finally going to get those two together. Kensi and Deeks, Nell and Eric – those are two couples that could never be a bad idea.

On tonight’s episode, “Exit Strategy,” Jada Khaled (the woman Sam had to cozy up to when he was undercover overseas not long ago) is abducted during an ambush, and the team rushes to save her.

To watch Sam save Jada, and hopefully be forced to deal with his feelings for her, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

Tonight is the fourth season premiere of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover on Bravo. It’s Kitchen Nightmares with hair salons. The series follows former Shear Genius contestant, straight-talking Aussie Tabatha Coffey, as she helps struggling salons across the US by whipping the salon owners and staff into shape and renovating the salon itself. This year, the series has been renamed Tabatha Takes Over, as Tabatha will now go beyond the salon and lend her expertise and attitude to all kinds of small business owners. It will be interesting to see how Tabatha is able to help out when she’s not dealing with her own expertise. One of the things I really like about this show is that they do a follow-up session, where Tabatha goes back a couple months later to see how well her advice was followed.

In tonight’s episode, “Jungle Red: Minneapolis, MN,” Tabatha Coffey tries to revamp a salon in Minneapolis. The establishment isn’t making the cut due to an uncontrollable staff and an immature proprietress.

Catch it tonight on Bravo at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Tabatha Takes Over @ Clicker.

I’m so happy Flashpoint is back! It’s been too long since we got a new episode. Thankfully, we learned not long ago that ION picked it up for a 5th season. That news made my day, I tell ya! I can’t wait to get back to Parker, Sam, Jules, and the rest of the gang on tonight’s episode.

On tonight’s episode, “Team Player,” Team One is called to a high-security psychiatric hospital where a violent patient has taken a guard hostage and injured fellow patient, Charlie Alanak (Rossif Sutherland). The team quickly subdues the subject only to discover that Charlie has escaped and taken Nurse Lorraine Manley (Kristen Harris) with him. While Parker uncovers details of Charlie’s shattered life, the rest of the team tracks him into the city, where they discover a startling secret from his past.

See the new episode tonight on ION at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.
