If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/18/12

Tonight is a GREAT night for TV. Thank goodness, because my family is all icky sicky. The kid has a cold, I’m not feeling well…So far, only the husband is escaping. *mwahaha* I have a feeling that won’t last. It never does! Anyway, hunker down under the blankets (it’s FREEZING here…what about there?) and check out what we think you should watch.

It’s been 4 1/2 months since the HUGE cliff hanger thrown to us by the showrunners of Royal Pains. Seriously, that was just pure evil on their part. Divya has been spreading herself so thin, trying to save up money to pay off Raj’s parents (Oh boy, that storyline pissed me off! lol). Not only was she working at HankMed, but she also took on a job at the hospital with Jill. She made a crucial, nearly fatal mistake in the mid-season finale and didn’t read all the instructions when giving meds to a patient. So we left off with Divya falling into bed at home as Hank found the patient unconscious. Hank, of course, immediately blamed the doctor in his head, but what will happen when he finds out it was Divya’s mistake? On the Evan front, he is growing closer to Paige’s parents, and they convinced Hank—against her husband’s wishes—to help Paige’s mother with her chronic depression. The treatment worked, so I hope that will heal some of the problems between Hank and Paige’s father. Finally, Jill is all set to leave Hamptons Heritage again…Will she go through with it? I don’t like the title of tonight’s episode, but I hope we’ll find out soon!

On tonight’s episode, “A Farewell to Barnes,” Eric Kassabian’s life hangs in the balance after a prescription error, and an angry Hank blames Dr. Van Dyke. Meanwhile, Paige tosses convention aside and makes Evan an offer he can’t refuse.

Check it out tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Royal Pains @ Clicker.

Tonight is the season premiere of American Idol, and it’s my favorite part – the auditions. I can’t help myself… I enjoy the crazies. 😀 Randy, J-Lo, Steven, and Ryan are all back, and I’m interested to see how ratings stack up against what The X Factor pulled in. Regardless, tonight will be filled with amazing singers, inspiring stories, and of course, tone deaf nutjobs.

American Idol returns with auditions part 1 tonight. The judges traveled from Savannah to San Diego in search of the one that will ultimately be crowned your American Idol.

On last week’s The Middle, Brick and Axl worked together on a school project for Brick, since Axl ate Brick’s original. Sue found out that one of the boys, Matt, on the wrestling team liked her. Frankie advised Sue that just because a boy likes you doesn’t mean that you have to like him back. It’s okay to say no. After she rebuffed Matt’s advances, he made a grand show and won Sue over. Meanwhile, Frankie and Mike dealt with a death in the family.

On tonight’s episode, “Hecking It Up,” Frankie is crushed when her hopes to land an official volunteer job at the Super Bowl are replaced by an unglamorous position. Sue spills her true feelings to her new boyfriend after a close call in the Donahue’s new car while they are out of town.

I discovered Modern Family when it had been airing a while, caught up on the first season in a few days, and have been following the show ever since. Their antics are always good for some nice laughs, and even though they fight, they really are a loving family. And I couldn’t name any character the show could do without, especially the kids. This week, they’ve won a Golden Globe for best comedy – a deserved win in my opinion.

This week on “Little Bo Bleep,” the family helps Claire preparing for her television debate in the race for town council, Lily learns her first swear word, and Gloria gets blamed for Stella’s strange behaviour.

It’s on at 9/8c on ABC. Learn where to find episodes online of Modern Family @ Clicker.

I’m excited about tonight’s episode of Criminal Minds. It’s been a month since the last episode, and I’ve missed my favorite FBI agents! The last episode was so sad…the killer turning out to be not a bad guy so much as mentally damaged from his boxing career. When he and his wife (estranged, ex…something) had to say goodbye to their little boy, who was dying, it seriously brought tears to my eyes. As a parent, that storyline hit me hard in the gut. On a much lighter note, Hotch met a woman in the park who was there running and training for a triathalon, and at the end of the episode, he was getting ready to go on a date with her. She will be back a few times, although not on tonight’s episode. I’m so happy for him, because he deserves it! (By the way, I believe I’m going to be talking one on one with Thomas Gibson, Agent Hotchner himself, so if you have any questions for him, let me know!)

On tonight’s episode, “True Genius,” a series of murders in San Francisco bearing the tell-tale signs of the infamous Zodiac Killer have the BAU wondering if the notorious serial killer has returned. Also, Reid ponders if he should be doing more with his genius abilities. Best-selling crime novelist Patricia Cornwell guest stars as herself, as a guest at a violent crime seminar attended by Reid and Prentiss.

I really enjoyed Suburgatory last week, and I’m looking forward to seeing where all these storylines are headed. It was hilarious how George is having all these sexual fantasies about Dallas, and yet Dallas is just being her usual self. That said, there is some serious chemistry between those two. I’m also really glad that the guidance counsellor, Mr. Wolfe, has finally admitted he’s gay – it’s about time.

On tonight’s episode, “The Casino Trip,” when George wins an all expense trip to Atlantic City, he enlists Noah, Fred, Tom, and Alex, and it turns into a getaway with the guys. During the trip, they run into Steven Royce – Dallas’ husband (Jay Mohr) – who is supposed to in Singapore. They also help Fred cope with his gambling issue. Meanwhile, Tessa tries to get some alone time with Scott Strauss (Thomas McDonell).

Last week on Revenge, Charlotte started back at school, which left Declan in the wake. Emily had her eyes set on a new target in a famed author who had deep ties to both the Graysons and the Clarkes. Conrad played dirty when he decided to drag Daniel into his and Victoria’s divorce. Jack let his guard down with Amanda, and it was revealed that Charlotte may be Emily’s half sister. Never a dull moment in the Hamptons!

On tonight’s episode, “Commitment,” Daniel plans a romantic proposal that may carry future ramifications. Also, Charlotte is devastated when she is forced to move back home to live with her mother. Meanwhile, Jack gets put into jeopardy when he is betrayed by someone that he loves, and Nolan forces Emily to think twice about her actions.

One of the few new comedies last season to get renewed was Happy Endings. The cast is funny, the jokes keep coming, the stories are insane, and the (recurring) guest stars are hilarious. People have been comparing the show to Friends, but to me, if they stay on this track, the show could become even funnier.

Tonight on “Makin’ Changes,” Alex and Max stage an intervention to stop Dave from wearing v-necked t-shirts, Jane convinces Penny to stop changing herself for every guy she dates, and Brad overhears Jane bragging to Penny about how she changed him when they met.

I have been enjoying Law & Order: SVU much more this season than I did last. I think it’s a combination of no more angry Stabler (who I haven’t been a fan of for a while) and the newbies, Detectives Amaro and Rollins. One of my favorite parts of the last episode was the conversation between Benson and Rollins, when Rollins asked how Olivia could trust men after doing this job for so long. Benson said she could trust her partner, and gave Rollins a sympathetic look to let her know she understood where the other woman was coming from. Of course, this is going to be tested this week, because Harry Connick Jr. guest stars as someone Benson works with (for the case, I’m guessing, but I’m not entirely sure), and in the previews, they kiss. It would be nice to see her in a relationship finally. She’s too smart, gorgeous, and just too great a person to be single all this time!

On tonight’s episode, “Official Story,” the powerful CEO of a private military contractor is confronted by protesters and later found drugged and sexually assaulted in a park. Detectives Benson and Amaro begin their investigation but find the victim unwilling to cooperate. As the SVU squad and the district attorney’s office explore the motives behind the attack, a much larger crime and conspiracy in Iraq is unveiled. Laura Benanti (The Playboy Club, Eli Stone) & Harry Connick Jr. guest star.
