Last week, I was away for a family vacation in warm, sunny Florida, only to return to 21 degrees and snowing in Massachusetts. While there, we played a lot of mini-golf, and I quickly learned how both fun and stressful it can be hanging out with toddlers 24/7. 🙂 Now, I could use another week off just to catch up on all of last week’s new TV shows that are piled up on my TiVos! Plus, tonight there’s another full lineup of great new episodes to add to the pile! Check out what we think you should watch!

I have really been enjoying Angry Boys on HBO. Chris Lilley has put together a great new crop of characters for his latest show. Identical twins Daniel and Nathan Sims were my favorite characters from Lilley’s previous series, We Can Be Heroes, so it is great to see them return in this series. The new character of their grandmother, Ruth “Gran” Sims, a guard at a juvenile detention facility, is also hilarious and a great addition to the family. However, my favorite new character has to be Jen Okazaki, the over-zealous and controlling mother of skateboarding superstar Tim, who takes the whole stage mother/manager to absurd levels. This show is is so funny—I love how completely insane and inappropriate it is! We are halfway through and get another double-bill of episodes tonight.
In tonight’s first episode, S.mouse’s disappointing community service at an elementary school creates a desire to get back in the public eye; Daniel’s mom makes him socialize with a gay classmate when she’s fed up with his homophobic slurs; Tim’s relationship with his mom sours as his 16th birthday approaches.
Then, in the second episode, Nathan’s success with girls irks Daniel to no end; Blake gets a visit from an old friend fresh out of jail, but Kareena is less than thrilled when he lends the ex-con his van; Gran gets the boys ready for Family Day at Garingal, and shares a secret with one of the inmates.
See both episodes tonight on HBO at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Angry Boys @ Clicker.

Last week on Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, the six competitors had to face Chopped judges, Scott Conant, Marcus Samuelsson, and Alex Guarnaschelli. Not only that, but they had to go head to head and cook one of the judges’ favorite recipes. Coolio and Lou Diamond Philips were up first, making fried chicken for Marcus. Coolio came out on top, even though LDP’s was good. Next, Taylor Dane and Joey Fatone made pasta with tomato basil sauce for Scott. Joey screwed up by adding too much dried herbs, and even though Taylor was a bundle of crazy the whole time, she won. Finally, Cheech and Summer made steak for Alex, and because Summer made a bloody mary compound butter, she won that challenge. I was flabbergasted at the bottom 3. Crazy! The sudden death challenge featured grilled cheese sandwiches. Lou and Cheech tried going more fancy, with meats and different breads—and unfortunately, cheese that didn’t melt. Joey’s sandwich was plain bread and normal cheese, but it wasn’t greasy like Cheech’s or non-melting like both the others. Cheech was sent home, and while I was happy that it was him rather than LDP or Joey, it was still a shocking episode for me.
On tonight’s episode, “Lunch Cart Showdown,” the five remaining celebrity chef competitors are challenged to operate lunch carts to serve hungry New York City pedestrians whose comment cards will assist the hosts in determining a winning team before elimination ensues.
Don’t miss it tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off @ Clicker.

Every week, I am excited for another episode of one of my favorite shows, Once Upon a Time, because every time, it’s an adventure into the lives of some of the most fascinating characters on TV. Last week, we got a creepy glance into the history of Hansel and Gretel…that blind witch was insanely unsettling. I was so happy that in the end, Emma got the kids back with their dad. Score one for good. However, I wonder who that strange man on the motorcycle was at the end of the episode? My guess is a lot of trouble, whoever he is.
On tonight’s episode, “7:15 A.M.,” Mary Margaret and David continue to grapple with their unrequited love, and Emma and Regina grow suspicious over a mysterious new stranger in town. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Snow White yearns to ease her breaking heart as Prince Charming’s wedding to King Midas’ daughter approaches.

I haven’t seen an episode of Prime Suspect since the premiere. I just had so much else on and it didn’t grab me enough to keep going. I know a lot of people enjoy it, though, which is why I wanted to feature it today, since it’s the last 2 episodes of the original 13 episode order. It hasn’t been canceled or renewed yet, so this may or may not be the final 2 episodes of the series.
On tonight’s first episode, “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Duffy and Calderon have the unpleasant task of telling a grandmother that her young granddaughter was raped and murdered. Jane and Augie are on the ritzy Upper East Side when a woman is found mysteriously shot during the night. Meanwhile, Jane has a heart to heart with Matt.
Then on the second episode, “Stuck in the Middle with You,” Jane and the team find out a jailed hit man may be responsible for the latest drive by at local store. Sweeney orders 24 hour a day security when a hit is ordered on one of their own. Meanwhile, Jane is a third wheel on an uncomfortable date.

Tonight is a night of fairytales in my house, because who doesn’t love a walk on the side of imagination? ABC Family is showing A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, and it’s a great, family-friendly movie.
It’s a modern and enchanting twist on an enduring classic. Katie (Lucy Hale, Pretty Little Liars) dreams of being a recording artist but is continually thwarted by her cruel stepmother, Missi Pyle, and stepsister, Megan Park (The Secret Life of the American Teenager). When Katie falls hard for Luke (Freddie Stroma), the new boy at her performing arts school, she tries to get his attention with her singing. But when her stepsister takes credit for Katie’s amazing voice and Luke falls for the wrong girl, Katie must learn to stand up for her dreams before her stepmother forces Katie to sing Luke into the arms of her wicked stepsister.
To see if this Cinderella story has a happy ending, tune in to ABC Family at 8/7.

There were major shakeups last week on Pan Am! Dean was tapped to fly the very first ever commercial flight to Moscow, but the day of the departure a Russian blowhard veteran pilot, Broyles, took control of the wheel and made Dean the co-pilot. While in Russia, Kate tried her hand at an important mission, but when Laura and Bridget were mistaken as spies, it was up to Kate and Colette to try and provide aid, which led Kate to seek assistance in an unlikely ally. Back in the States, Congressman Rawlings and his staff worked hard to track down whoever anonymously wrote the negative new story about him. Maggie agreed to be his date at a fundraiser but found it hard to keep her temper and her tongue in line with so many conservative political supporters there while retaining her cover as the article’s author. Ted’s relationship with Amanda turned serious, but Maggie learned something about Amanda that may put an end to things.
On an all new episode, “New Frontiers,” Maggie tells Ted why she has so many reservations about Amanda. Dean pines for Colette, who has revealed that she has asked for a transfer to the Hong Kong hub. While on a flight to Rome, Colette meets and befriends a handsome and mysterious gentlemen named Omar and agrees to show him the city. Meanwhile, Dean is accosted by local customs officials, who are looking for a smuggler. Kate needs to learn the art of pickpocketing, and Laura gets a real shock when she discovers that the Life Magazine photographer, Graham, has sold the nude photos he took of her to an art gallery that has put them on display. Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga movies) guest stars.

Prime Suspect’s last two episodes ): That was my favorite new show.
