If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/30/12

It’s the start of a new work week for most people. But it also means some great new television, so that kind of balances the bad with the good. 😉 On a fantastic note…my husband got called early last week about an interview mid-week. He went to the interview at 9:00 and was there for just over an hour. At 1:30 that afternoon, they called and offered him the job. He starts on the 9th of February, and it’s just over double what he is making now, which is fantastic! After my job got downsized, we weren’t sure what was going to happen—moving in with his parents or my mom, losing our cable, and giving up at least 2 of our 3 cats were brought up—but now, it means we can stay where we are and any income I can bring in will just be that much better. Thank you to all the thoughts & prayers we’ve received over the last month and a half! Now, let’s see what’s on tonight!

Man, I am loving Lost Girl. We’ve only had two episodes, but it’s seriously making me want more and more and more of it! I love Bo and Kenzi (who is freakin hilarious), and damn, Dyson is sexy. lol How hot was the sex scene at the end of last week’s episode? The heat rolling off the two of them was crazy good. The rest of the episode was great, as well. The Will o’ Wisp and his son were kind of sad, because the son didn’t think his dad wanted him, but the fae didn’t even realize he had a son. It all seemed to work out in the end, although what Will and Connell were going to do, I don’t know. I think I’ll just pretend that everything was perfect in their world. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Sorority,” Bo and Kenzi open a private investigation office. Their first job is to find a missing student at a local college. Kenzi goes undercover in the college, while Bo joins campus security to uncover what happened. Bo and Dyson’s relationship goes on the rocks, and another species of Fae is revealed.

Don’t miss it tonight on Syfy at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Lost Girl @ Clicker.

There are so many people saying that Hart of Dixie isn’t worth watching – well, those people would be wrong. It’s a feel good, interesting show, and Rachel Bilson is fabulous. Last week’s episode was so funny, with Zoe getting initiated into the Belles. She eventually decided that it wasn’t for her, but she’d find her roots another way. I wish there had been more story growth for the male characters, but the episode as a whole was a win.

On tonight’s episode, “Mistress & Misunderstandings,” Zoe tries to hide her burgeoning friendship with AnnaBeth from Lemon, but Zoe’s new sunny disposition betrays her secret. Meanwhile, Lemon attempts to secure a coveted position in the Belles.

Being Human is off to a great start this season! Last week, Sally learned how to take over someone else’s body and discovered that a spirit can be killed (it kind of reminded me of the movie Ghost). Meanwhile, Nora and Josh seem to be having problems with their relationship ever since the whole werewolf transformation. It appears that Nora may actually remember some of what she did as a wolf, despite Josh saying that for him, the lives are completely separate. Nora also mentioned losing the baby, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the case or if she is just assuming that the baby is gone after having transformed into a wolf.

I’m really enjoying the freshness of the series now that the US show has branched off on its own. I like the where the characters are going – each is getting interesting stories. I hope that Nora is still pregnant, as I would like to see how the baby works into her relationship with Josh and how they handle that along with everything else that’s going on.

In tonight’s episode, “All Out of Blood,” Aidan goes on a date with a human while he is cut off from his blood supply, Sally delves into reincarnation, and Josh and Nora get ready for their second change together.

Last week on Pretty Little Liars, A took aim at Spencer by going after Toby. He/She loosened the bolts on a scaffolding that Toby was standing on, which caused Toby to crash down and break his arm. After Toby’s stay at the hospital, Spencer asked Emily to help her by letting Toby down easy, which would allow Spencer to protect him in the future. After Toby learned about Spencer’s past with Dr. Wren, he blew out of Rosewood. Also, the more that the Liars used Caleb to dig for scoop and info from the phone they’d found, the more Hanna worried for Caleb’s safety and about their relationship. Aria tried to salvage her relationship with Ezra by inviting him to meet her in a special spot by fake dating Holden, who seemed to be using Aria for his own agenda as well.

Tonight, on “A Kiss Before Lying,” Hanna believes that her fellow Liars, Spencer, Emily, and Aria, are ignoring her, and Emily prepares for the arrival of a visit from Mama Fields!

I finally got to watch the first 2 hours of Alcatraz over the weekend, and I have to say, I enjoyed it more than I was worried I would. I’d heard good things about it, but I was worried it was going to be like Lost, where I was really interested, but then it just didn’t capture me enough to want to watch past the crazy science-fiction stuff. After the first 2 hours, though, I am definitely interested enough to keep watching. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see last week’s episode yet, but I have no more worries about whether or not I’ll enjoy it. The reveal of Lucy back in the 60s was CRAZY! I totally didn’t see that coming. I will say that theories started flying between myself and my husband, though, about her motives, whether or not she’s good or evil… Another thing that totally threw us was Hauser telling Jack Sylvane that Tiller was his friend—I doubt they were friends back in the 60s, so did they become friends later on? Is he as…bad as Tiller seemed to be? And what about Lucy getting shot?! Shocked the crap out of me! lol I can’t wait to see episode 3 and then episode 4 as well tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Cal Sweeney,” when a bank robbing criminal returns from the past and things go wrong in the present, Rebecca has to break him out of the hostage-filled bank before people can find out who he is. Eric Johnson (Rookie Blue, Flash Gordon, Smallville) guest stars as Cal Sweeney.

Check it out tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Alcatraz @ Clicker.

It’s been an interesting season for Next Great Baker, and tonight, it comes to an end. My favorite has changed a couple of times along the way, and now, with the final three, I’m leaning toward Nadine, because out of those left, she is by far the least annoying. Ryan has a temper that I find concerning, while Marissa is just plain irritating. Who are you cheering for?

There are two episodes tonight. The first is a one-hour “Finale Pre-Show” special, the bakers answer all the burning questions viewers have and tell who they feel is the favorite to win. Clinton Kelly is hosting.

Then on the 90-minute season finale, “…And the Winner Is?” finalists Marissa, Nadine, and Ryan vye for the top spot, which includes a $100,000 prize, a feature in Brides magazine, and a chance to work at Carlo’s Bakery.

To see who wins it all, tune in to TLC at 8/7c & 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Next Great Baker @ Clicker.
