If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/14/12

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m SO running late today, so this is the down and dirty intro. Let’s see what we think you should be watching tonight, yeah?

On the last episode of Raising Hope, Jimmy was distressed to learn that Wyatt was moving overseas and wanted Sabrina to go with him. He did everything he could to convince her to stay, including having Virginia (who was pretending to be a tarot card reader) read their cards and tell them Wyatt needed to go and Sabrina needed to stay. In the end, they decided to both stay, so Jimmy didn’t lose Sabrina when she left, but Wyatt also didn’t go anywhere, so… That leads up tonight’s new episode, which I’ve seen—and loved. The screener cut off just before the end, so I am anxious to see how it plays out! Gah!

On tonight’s episode, “Jimmy’s Fake Girlfriend,” Jimmy’s spirits are low when Sabrina’s relationship with Wyatt becomes serious, so Virginia and Burt convince him to create a make-believe girlfriend to make her jealous. Barney invites Jimmy to his improv class, where he meets Mary-Louise (guest star Ashley Tisdale, High School Musical) who agrees to play along with his plan to win over Sabrina. But when their acting becomes too convincing and Sabrina falls for their fake relationship, all plans might backfire on Jimmy.

Check it out tonight on FOX at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

Here’s what you missed…on Glee! Last week, Will questioned his abilities as a Spanish teacher when he realized he wasn’t reaching the students. He decided to take some night classes to brush up on his Spanish when he encountered night school teacher David (guest star Ricky Martin), who was interested in trying to land tenure at McKinley High. This inspired Will to have the students sing songs in Spanish for their weekly lesson. Meanwhile, Sue decided she wanted to have a baby and tried to get some of the students, and Will, to donate their sperm. Sam tried his hardest to win Mercedes over and once and for all steal her away from her boyfriend. Kurt reminded Finn that he is also a star and that he shouldn’t let Rachel’s shine dull his.

Tonight, on an all new love infused Glee, “Heart,” Will asks the glee club members to find and perform the world’s best love songs in honor of Valentine’s Day. Rachel’s fathers, Hiram and LeRoy Berry, guest stars Jeff Goldblum & Brian Stokes Mitchell, show up at McKinley High.

There are a lot of sexy people on television, but the cast of NCIS: LA is ridiculously attractive. LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell are both yummy treats, and last week’s episode was centered on the anniversary of their partnership. I love the way this cast interacts and the way the partnerships work. We have the bromance of G/Sam, the romantic tension of Deeks/Kensi, and of course, the geek bond of Nell/Eric. Whatever your pleasure, it’s worth tuning in for.

On tonight’s episode, “Crimeleon,” the NCIS team hunts an international killer who is able to transform himself like a chameleon to avoid capture, from country to country.

To see how the team captures this killer, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

Tonight I’ll also be watching NCIS, Glee, New Girl, Body of Proof, Jane By Design, and Unforgettable.

Wow, I can’t believe the last episode of Cougar Town aired almost nine months ago! In the season two finale, Jules and Grayson were at odds on how they felt about having kids, with Jules eventually agreeing to the idea (but it almost seemed like she was just saying it to not lose him). It also seemed like there may be the sparks of a romantic relationship between Travis and Laurie.

Tonight’s season premiere is a lot of fun, and when I watched it, I was quickly reminded of why I really enjoy this show. That same mix of wackiness and heart that I first fell in love with in the early days of Scrubs is still going strong with this series. I’m not sure how much time is supposed to have passed since the season finale, but Ellie and Andy’s son looks so much older than I remember (I’m sure that’s probably due to the 9 month hiatus). However, I’m looking forward to having the gang back on my TV for the rest of this abbreviated third season and seeing how the events of last season’s finale play out this year, if at all.

In tonight’s episode, “Ain’t Love Strange,” Grayson irks Jules by labeling her predictable, Ellie worries that Little Stan is a spawn of the devil, and Travis settles into his new off-campus housing, though he’s not sure he wants his dad’s dog as a roommate.

Catch it tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Cougar Town @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching: Glee, Raising Hope, New Girl, The River, Body of Proof, Parenthood, Switched at Birth, Jane By Design, Chopped, and Southland. (And at this point, I may just end up doing a Justified marathon once the season is over!)

One of my family’s favorite shows to watch together is Top Shot on the History Channel. We love rooting for what most of the contestants consider the underdog and seeing the pompous, “think I’m the best shot ever” guys go down. It hasn’t happened every time, but the journey to find the “top shot” is always fun. It’s great to see the different types of weapons used, from guns to knives and archery, and the different challenges they have to go through. My kid loves the trick shots. heh My pick just from looking at the bios for this season’s shooters? Chris Cheng, IT professional who has never been in law enforcement or the military.

On tonight’s season premiere, “Sweating Bullets,” after host Colby Donaldson has surprised the marksmen with a shoot-off challenge just minutes after their arrival, two competitors lose and are sent home. Later, shooters must fire an M1 Carbine from a motorcycle sidecar in a WWII challenge.

Take a shot tonight on History Channel at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Top Shot @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to watch Last Man Standing, NCIS, NCIS: LA, Cougar Town, 19 Kids & Counting, New Girl, Body of Proof, Chopped, Justified, & Unforgettable. Whew!

Jess found herself in over her head last week on New Girl after talking to the super about some repairs their apartment needed. The boys told her not to meddle, but being Jess, she never listens and marches to the beat of her own drum. Not realizing that the roommates were only allowed three people to the apartment, Jess stuck her foot in her mouth. Luckily, the super, Remy, took it easy on her and agreed to fix a few things. Unfortunately, he also thought he, Jess, and Nick could get a threesome going, which completely stunned Jess, who wasn’t willing to admit she was wrong.

Love is in the air on “Valentine’s Day,” when Jess talks Schmidt into being her wingman as she tries to have a casual fling with a very handsome stranger (guest star Ryan Kwanten, True Blood). Also, Nick finds himself spending less time with girlfriend Julia and more time with her assistant. Meanwhile, Shelby invites Winston over. Lizzy Caplan, Clark Duke, & Kali Hawk also guest star.

Have a gigglefest at 9/8c while watching FOX. Learn where to find episodes online of New Girl @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also watching Raising Hope and Southland.
