If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/5/12

It’s the Monday before March break for my daughter, so I am going to relax and use this week to prepare myself for having her home to amuse for a week! Tonight, I’m just going to sit back and watch some of the great new TV that’s on. Let’s see what we should all be watching.

Well, the time has come for the battle rounds on The Voice to begin, and I am so excited – yet nervous. I have so many favorites that I know this is going to be a blood bath. My favorites are: Pip (Team Adam), Tony Lucca (Team Adam), Lex Land (Team Blake), James Massone (Team Cee Lo), and Lindsey Pavao (Team Christina). This season has so many talented contestants that it’s going to be painful to watch them go.

On tonight’s episode, the battle rounds begin and the coaches enlist the help of music industry professionals to offer their knowledge and skill as advisers. Christina teams up with Jewel and Lionel Richie; Adam Levine with Alanis Morissette and Robin Thicke; Cee Lo Green with Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Ne-Yo; and Blake Shelton with Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which vocalist from their team is going home and which is staying for the live shows.

To see if the judges are smart and keep my favorites, tune in to NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Voice @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Alcatraz and Smash.

Kyle’s Choice

Last week, I turned on my TV to watch a new episode of Alcatraz. However, what I found was car racing on my screen (grrrrr – sports wins again). Tonight, FOX is airing a double-header of episodes. However, they are skipping over last week’s episode, which will air next week instead.

Each week, we have gotten a new “hunt down and capture the ’63 convict of the week” story. While these have been interesting, it would be great to also get some momentum on answering some of the major questions of the series. For example, how did the ’63s get here, who or what is behind all of this, and what is their goal? And what is Hauser’s plan with that duplicate Alcatraz? There are so many open questions that I would love to see addressed, especially with so few episodes left in this short season!

In tonight’s first episode, “The Ames Brothers,” Herman and Pinky Ames, two of Alcatraz’s most violent brothers, find something amiss when they resurface in the present day. In the second hour, “Sonny Burnett,” former inmate Sonny Burnett, a man who became incredibly violent during his stint in Alcatraz, resurfaces.

Check them out tonight on FOX at 8/7c & 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Alcatraz @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Voice, Being Human, and Smash.

When we last left the Liars, it was Rosewood’s annual Father-Daughter dance. Hanna’s father bailed and couldn’t make it, and Emily’s father flew in from Texas and let the cat out of the bag that he was headed back to duty in Iraq, Aria’s father treated her like his little girl, and Spencer’s mistrust of her father made for very awkward father-daughter dances. Ashley Marin started to come down on her daughter Hanna as she tried to learn more and more about her daughter’s torments. Spencer learned that her father didn’t pay off Ali at all and that Maya never even got on the bus to San Francisco – she got into a car with a mysterious stranger. Mona provided some much needed assistance in a pinch, and the Liars inched their way to finding out who A is! Two new episodes remain before A is revealed, and these episodes keep getting juicier and more scandalous.

On tonight’s episode, “Eye of the Beholder,” Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna are on a mission to get answers of what Alison knew before she died, and they may have just gotten a bit lead from someone from Alison’s past that appears. Duncan may very well hold the key to all of the girls’ answers, but then again, can they exactly trust him and let their guard down? And just when they feel like Duncan may be their only lead, Jason drops off a bag of Alison’s personal items that may seem like a bag of junk, but could actually be filled with hidden gems. Meanwhile, Toby returns to Rosewood and he brings a surprising reunion that ends dangerously.

Watch ABC Family at 8/7c for all the thrilling action. Learn where to find episodes online of Pretty Little Liars @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also not missing brand new episodes of thrilling shows The Voice and Smash!
